or is he chasing Russell at this point?

36 year old 19th season still doing work in a far tougher conference. really puts everything in perspective

They were idiots not to keep him.

Yeah, if Kobe played for anyone but the Lakers he'd still be chasing MJ. But by 6 instead of 1.

Like everyone else...Kobe has done nothing without playing with great players next to him. He'd just be like Lebron and Wade were for most of their careers...carrying shitty teams to the playoffs, but not winning anything. Not sure how Kobe in the east is supposed to make him or his legacy better...without teammates that are going to help contribute to winning nobody is going to care what he averaged.

considering lebron only had to beat 5 teams with 50 wins to make 5 finals

and kobes had to beat 25 teams with 50 wins+ to make 7 finals

going by that math. if kobe played his entire life in the east he would have made more finals than years played

and some might say thats physically impossible

but kobe is no mortal

Kobe made 3 straight final appearances with the worst supporting cast of any dynastic team in history of NBA

who were the great players on the 2009 and 2010 teams

they had "good" players at best

great = top tier level

at best gasol was really good

great is a word that gets thrown around too loosely these days

great = a top 100 player all time maybe... is gasol even that? hes got 2 third team all nbas and a 0-16 record as leader in the playoffs

No, as long as you acknowledge Bosh is on the same tier as Gasol

Whatever. The point is Kobe is not going to carry a team to the finals just because its the east. Nobody does anything without a core of good players by their side. This fantasy you are trying to create is just complete bullshit.

lol bosh has twice the career gasol has in the nba thus far

by the time bosh is retired hes gonna have 13-14 allstar selections

gasol has what? 4

bosh has mvp shares in multiple seasons

gasols never gotten an mvp share

bosh can average 24/10/5 and would have the last 4 years if not for having to share

gasol could only dream of stats like that

Only reason he beat the charge is he was a Laker. If Kobe was chucking in front of an empty arena in Minnesota for local TV broadcasts when he got charged, dat nikka'd be doin 15-20 in federal right now for crossin state lines to commit a rapebe :kobe:

Chris Bosh is a 24/10 PF the way Gasol never was

don't even mention those two in the same sentence

Gasol is 0-16 in playoff without Kobe

Wow, where to begin. I love dispelling this myth that Bosh is on another tier than Gasol. Fine, Bosh has the edge in all-star selections, is he getting that many if he were out West with Duncan, KG, and Dirk? I doubt it

Bosh received MVP shares, in two seasons, coming in 7th place once, and garnering one vote and coming in 12th place, hardly anything to brag about. Gasol lead the Lakers in the '09 regular season and throughout 2010 in winshares? Has Bosh ever done this on a championship team?

And Bosh has NEVER averaged more than 2.5 assists in a season, and averaged 24 points ONCE in his career, so your projections are unrealistic and ridiculous.

Bottom line, Bosh has one All-NBA selection, Gasol has two, Bosh went 3-8 in the playoffs, Gasol went 0-12 in a tougher conference. As for their career stats

Regular season
Gasol: 18, 9, 3 on 52%
Bosh: 19, 9, 2 on 50%

Playoffs
Gasol: 17, 10, 3 on 52%
Bosh: 16, 8, 1 on 47%

I would hardly consider one of these players as having "twice" the career as the other
