I'm open for debate, if they still had an overpaid scrub ala Boozer I would have taken him instead of Gibson. But name the overpaid useless scrub left on the Bulls... go on. Taj makes a lot and if they are gonna hold onto their role players that prevents them from getting a bonafide proven star, than I suppose they should enjoy their playoff exits. They are clearly in the top 4 of the East, but they don't have the GUY to get them over the Cavs in the playoffs. They should try to win NOW. Melo would do it. He can close games out if he isn't run into the ground the whole game/season. He would be playing on a well balanced team that doesn't depend on him the whole game or season. Butler is better than Shump, but Shump has what it takes to do similar things that Butler does.
