Lakers get: Greg Monroe, Brandon Jennings, Josh Smith, Kyle Singler

Pistons get: Nash, Boozer, Sacre, Lin

Lakers get Jennings (Kobe dickk rider and more athletic PG than Lin) and replace Boozer with Smith and Monroe.

Jennings - Clarkston
Kobe - Young/Ellington
Johnson - Singler/Henry
Davis - Smith
Monroe - Hill

Pistons tank and start fresh with only Augustin, KCP, Meeks, Martin, Drummond coming back next season.

Lin - Augustin
KCP - Meeks
Butler - Martin
Boozer - Jerebko
Drummond - Anthony/Sacre

Detroit only entertains that if they suddenly have the urge to tank.

Why would they give up assets for expirers and then no young talent or picks? You think the Pistons just wanna help out the Lakers?

The Lakers would be quicker to say no to that. Which is a shame because watching Kobe, Jennings and Smith playing together would be glorious in a "this is the most majestic dumpster fire ever" kind of way.

What's hilarious is I am a Pistons fan. The same Pistons who are trying their hardest and yet are still tied for the 4th worst record in the league. They dont need to purposely tank since they suck bad enough WITH Smith and Monroe.

Not many teams in the NBA would be willing to take on Smith esp not for expirings. Closest Pistons came to dumping Smith was this past offseason when Smith for Thompson/Derrick Williams was discussed and even that was only dumping half his salary since Thompson is owed 6.5M

Just by allowing the Pistons to start fresh this offseason is reason enough to make the trade for Detroit.

As for the Lakers saying no, that's also unrealistic. Lakers take this trade every day of the year. Buss family is embarrassed and would rather eat Smith's contract then miss the playoffs two season in a row.

Swapping Monroe for Boozer is a no-no. They want Smith gone, not Monroe.

i would love to get rid of boozer and sacre but this is just a bad trade for both teams.

No one will take Smith especially not for an expiring

Detroit gives up Monroe (who already has one foot out the door anyways) for a savings of 35M and a chance for SVG to build the team he wants not deal with Dumars' shitt squad

Monroe is worth more than every single player combined in that trade package from both teams.

If the Lakers had a pick or two to include in the deal I wouldn't find it too unlikely actually - Monroe will be gone most likely by this time next year (and is due for a big raise anyway), Smith's contract sucks although he is a decent player in the right system (not SVGs), and Jennings is an average PG in the league. It would upgrade the Lakers this year to a certain extent (not enough for them to make the playoffs) and would clog their cap.

TO be honest it'd probably be a bad trade for both sides really but I like the idea of the Lakers being completely mediocre with less cap flexibility more than I like them now :confusedshrug:
