EDIT: Trade idea

Waiters for Asik.

Pelicans:
Holiday
Gordon/Waiters
Evans
Anderson
Davis
-----
Waiters/Gordon

Why? Asik is taking minutes away from Anderson who's a better offensive option and spreads the floor. Anthony Davis is an elite rim protector. Pelicans get a better 6th man than goddamn Austin rivers.

Cavs:
Irving
LeBron
Marion
Love
Asik
---------
Andy V

Why? Asik makes up for Love. Andy V and him can share minutes.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
It seems that if Cavs remain around .500 / .600 that they'll make a trade. Waiters is the obvious choice. They need to replace with a 3 and D guy. That could be Ray Allen if he decides to sign with Cavs, although I'm not sure about a 39-year-old. Otherwise they could try to trade Waiters for any 7 foot rim protector. Andy V is good but not quite good enough to make up for Love. He's also an injury risk come the playoffs.

Realistic SG trade options?

Realistic C trade options?

It's funny to think that if Cavs traded Waiters for Wiggins right now both teams would probably be better off. Waiters could become the first option he wants to be, and Cavs could turn Wiggins into an elite defender.

We'll give you J.Hill (leading league in Offensive rebounds) and Nick Young for Waiters.

I don't even want him for free. And Memphis needs scorers :lol

Too selfish for my taste

Remember when they wouldn't trade him for Avery Bradley? Good times.

Salaries don't match at all and I'm not sure about Hill's defense. I wouldn't put Nick Young anywhere near this Cavs side. There's no "we" - I'm a Spurs fan but there's no point speculating about Spurs trades because Pop always knows best.

I wouldn't say he's selfish; he's just a young guy that's never had a chance to be a first option. After spending a few years as second option to Kyrie now he has to be 4th option. Try to think of any other young guy that's content being a 6th man.

I would love him on the Pacers....they need a straight scorer like him.

But we aren't willing to give up much so I doubt Cavs would be interested

Cavs probably wouldn't take Bradley - he plays D but he's undersized (with Kyrie) and not great at 3.

What are the chances Pelicans would trade Asik?
Waiters + Anthony Davis could be a pretty good combo.

People already forgot how much he balled out with Kyrie injured last season.

I can see Cavs offering a package around Waiters for Hibbert.

^This.
Waiters is the type of guy who will get traded and instantly become a 20ppg+ player.

Pacers wont do it.

Why do people think any Team in the league will help the Cavs get better? :biggums:

Especially a fringe Team like the Pacers who are just waiting for all their main guys to get back.

People are giving up on the Cavs way too soon.

We lost to the defending champs (barely), and to what is a very good Washington team, on a night when Wall shot the ball like he was Steph Curry out there.

We're just going through a rough patch; things will get better.

I won't even bother digging up the old threads where everyone is praising Dion but I know there are plenty.

Centers are too valuable. Sadly, I don't think the Pacers would agree

Even if Hibbert isn't what his All-star appearance made him out to be, he's still leading the league in blocks if I'm not mistaken. Pacers are waiting on PG and West to get fully healthy. Trading Hibbert would be a step back for them.

I like Waiters but there really is no place for him on this team. He and Haywood need traded together.

Lebron will age this roster faster than you can say male pattern baldness.

I respectfully disagree.

Waiters had to be a 6th man at Cuse even. He's a detriment to the team as a starter usually, and even sometime just in general.

It doesn't matter what option he was or what option he wants to be.

FALL IN PLACE DION. You are playing with Bron, Love, and Kyrie.

Dion has a lot of talent, he can be a complimentary role player to these guys. His shot recognition is putrid and his attitude is the worst part about him.

He's got the luxury of playing with 3 superstars. I know that's not easy but it can be easy with the right approach and mindset. So we'll see if Dion can realize how to make himself useful or he will get shipped the **** out.

P.s. As a Bulls fan watched Taj Gibson have to play behind Boozer for 4 long years when he should have started over almost that entire time period.

What did Taj do? Never complain publicly if at all and became a beast anyway and became one of the best 6th men in the league on a good team. Work hard and give the team whatever they need.

Dion must embrace his role. He isn't shit in the NBA. He's gotta realize it doesn't matter what he wants to do. He has to do what's needed for the Cavs.

Serious question, why would any team that isn't tanking want to give up anything of real value for a guy that can't play team ball with LeBron, Love, and Kyrie?

Hibbert for Waiters, trade exception(or Haywood contract next summer) and Kirk.

Indy: Get young shooting guard to replace Lance, get rid of Hibbert's contract and get Waiters on a cheaper contract. Also themselves a good tank until George returns.

Cavs: Get Hibbert, they badly need rim protection. Then replace Waiters with some 3&D guy to improve defense and stretch floor even more. Would hide a lot of Love's issues on D and he can go back to playing his own game.

Hill has been the best big for LA and swaggy P is 2-1.

Losing a big for this team spells doom.

Thompson, Waiters, and first rounder for Bradley and Olynk?

Sounds like a lot for the Cavs at first, but you have to remember that the Cavs have to worry about paying these guys soon as well. Bradley is exactly what this team needs next to Kyrie and Lebron...and Olynk is a nice player that can space the floor...and rebound/pass pretty well also.

This actually gives the cavs more flexibility to address their primary need...A defensive center....while also drastically improving guard defense and getting a nice player in Olynk.

I don't like Waiters or Thompson, at all, on this Cavs team. Been saying so since the summer.

More for money purposes. He's do for a new deal after the season and I think it will just be too much to pay a player that doesn't address the big need on this team.

They need a defensive center...not a hybrid pf/c like Thompson that doesn't defend the rim very well.

I like Thompson as a player, but he'll never be used optimally on this Cavs team with Love/Andy...because...especially not in the playoffs when defense matters even more. Just not going to run Thompson at center out there very often with Love....and with Love playing around 40 mpg in the playoffs. What is Thompson really worth on this team?

I'd rather ship him and Waiters and not have to worry about paying either of them.
