Korver is 33, and a role-player.

Dion is a stud with future all-star potential.

George Costanza the GM...

George: I think I got it. How 'bout this? How 'bout this? We trade Jim

Leyritz and Bernie Williams, for Barry Bonds, huh? Whadda ya think?
That way you have Griffey and Bonds, in the same outfield! Now you got
a team! Ha ha ha.

You say he's a role player like it's a bad thing on a team with already 3 all stars and the best player in basketball.

Also, the bolded :yaohappy:

Not at all.

Korver is a great player and shooter. I'm actually a fan of his, and all teams need guys like him. We have Miller, Harris, and Johnson to fill that role though.

I also think Dion has more value in terms of trades, with age being only one among several factors, and yes; he does have all-star caliber potential.

I think just about anyone in the world would pull the trigger on Waiters for Korver right now. Doesn't matter what potential is, Korver would be a huge asset. He is a shooter. One of the best. Can shoot moving, even. Korver has more value than Waiters. May always. Even if Waiters is a borderline all-star with low IQ, does that make him better than one of the best shooters in the league? Not on a good team...

I agree with you regarding the value of Korver to a team, as a player, but age and star potential are always a factor when it comes to actual value trade-wise.

Meanwhile, I'm not giving up on Dion. He's had a rough patch lately, but has also shown flashes of brilliance. Don't forget that he is still adjusting to a completely new role and system, as is our entire team.

PS, remember this game? (http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=400578425)

korver is on another level to those guys.

hes a better shooter, but he also has much better footwork, and a lightening quick release.

you can actually run plays and get korver buckets, you cant do the same for harris or miller.

if i were david griffin, id say yes to this trade.

i dont care how many all stars you got, you keep trading away young talent and picks, you're gonna end up like the knicks. trading a first rounder and waiters for a 34 year old korver is laughable to say the least. if anything, you're going to get a 3rd team involved for such a silly trade.

Korver on that Cavs team would be 10x more valuable than Waiters.
