Wait a minute though... Kobe is still producing toe to toe/outscoring peak Lebron Harden and Melo, are you sure? Isn't he like 36 in his 19th season coming off serious Achilles and knee injuries? Wasn't he ranked 40th in the league by a journalist recently?

Can someone please post the stats of the 36 other players that were predicted to be ranked ahead of him?

I can't believe 36 year old post AchillesBe's current numbers are better than healthy prime 30 year old Lebron's current numbers.

OP I don't understand... Same for all people disregarding FG%.

'14/'15 Kobe: 27/5/4
'08/'09 Kobe: 27/5/5

Equal players

Not quite, assists and defense.

But they're closer than you think.

Not defending his bad recent play or anything, but even in the pre-season he's been complaining about his back. It's what did in Bird too, back problems. So he's not fully healthy.

It's 1 assist...

You're telling me 2009 Kobe and 2015 Kobe's offenses are equal? Or could there, POSSIBLY, be something missing here that we aren't evaluing?................... hmmm

At 36 years of age Wilt finished 4th in MVP voting, lead the league in rebounding and accuracy, actually set the statistical record in accuracy that still stands 40 years later at over 70%, and lead his team to the Finals as the best player on his team. We also know he unofficially blocked 5.4 shots per game for the season, which would have made him the league leader in blocked shots that season.

Don't get me wrong what Kobe is doing is incredible at 36. But Wilt, being that he is most dominant ever, is all but guarantee'd to be an all around statistically superior player to just about any player in any given season unless you isolate down to some arbitrary specific stat.

Wilt leads team to finals every year.

Kobe leads team potentially to 8 seed and probably 4-0 early round sweep by the 1 seed.

Yet Kobe>Wilt
