MVP criteria 95% of the time since the media started voting

= best season/stats by a player on a #1 seed

* if both #1 seeds from east and west have no clear cut defining candidate. it becomes any player having the best season out of a top 3 team in each confrence

#1 seeds = toronto and memphis ( neither have a clear cut defining leader/mvp )

best 3 teams from each confrence = grizzlies/warriors/rockets and toronto/washington/chicago

all team reps considered + ranking based on performance

#1 - Steph Curry ( slight nod over klay ) @ 23/8/5/2 on 48%

#2 - John Wall @ 19/9/4/3 on 43%

#3 - James Harden @ 24/6/7/2 on 39%

#4 - Kyle Lowry ( slight nod over derozan ) @ 19/6/5/1 on 47%

#5 - Marc Gasol ( slight nod over conley ) @ 19/3/8/1 on 48%

left out - Noah @ DPOTY candidate with 8/10/4/1 on 45%

Nope.

Davis is #1, it's really not close atm, either.

how.. because of stats?

new orleans is 7-5. the 10th seed in the west right now

nobody has ever won mvp with that low of a seed. especially since the media started voting

are you on crack?

so we're just totally throwing the record criteria out the window now that kobes way past his prime and cant average 35ppg anymore?

:lol

Implying that 7-5 and 3-10 are even remotely similar.

Stop trolling, clown.

There is no possible reason for Wall over Lowry.

ummm ... i want lowry to win it just as much as anyone.

but wall is the clear cut leader on washington.

lowry and derozen are splitting votes

Meh Lowry is way better than Demar and we destroyed the Wiz

kobe outscored dallas 62-61. a year later dirk won mvp

its just about records and who the media likes bro

lowry doesnt have the superstar stats or status . and toronto wont be repping a league mvp any time soon. not enough love from the media

Not one of those players will end up winning it

probably not. i'm just saying based on the criteria those are the candidates right now

i could actually see james harden taking it

his team will end up with a top 3 record and hes gonna have a top 3 scoring average

that and the media likes him. he got the votes for 1st team all nba last year

and he has the look of someone fresh for the media to gush over

You're right based on criteria so far that's what it is, I wont argue that at all. I'd say the media dislikes Harden actually, and he only got 1st team because there isn't a better SG than him. That is objectively true.

It will be Durant again. He'll come in, drop 30/7/4 and lead OKC to a 5th or 4th seed.

That's the only MVP-level type player that I can see winning it.
