Seriously? Where they wide open or was there a man hovering and open threes?

they were perfectly fine passes to an open player for a better shot. OP is just a dick.

It was when Freeland and Kaman were in the game and neither of them are shot blockers. the threes were open but they were like jared sullinger threes which aren't exactly a sure thing.

I still don't get why Rondo gets a pass and Rubio is just a null offense for most of the people.

Remind me again when Rubio put up 44 points 10 assists and 8 rebounds in a play off game?

Rondo isn't a good shooter but in his healthy seasons he still averages in the high 40s for his field goal %, there's a difference between not being a good shooter and not being a good scorer.

Also Rondo is the tier 1 PG that gets shit on the most by this board.

I'm not saying that Rubio is better or even as good as Rondo, that's an understatement.
But their impact in the game is basically the same in 90% of the games.
Put Rubio surrounded by HOF in the Celtics and he would have done the same because they play a similar style.

Above average defense: Both have.
Extremely passing abilities: Both have.
Good rebounders for PG's: Both are.

Their difference in scoring/shooting is minimal in their impact of the game in 90% of the games, in my opinion.

One has a career shooting % of 47 and the other has 37%. I see what you are getting at, I like Rubio and on the right team I think he would look a lot better than he currently does but I still think Rondo is a higher calibre or player. Rondo has taken over games in the past and looked amazing, he's much better at finding ways to score when needed.

Again, i totally understand what you are saying it's undeniable that he's a better scorer. But, how many times does he actually overtake games by doing that? He did, true. But very rarely.

I saw Rubio overtaking games too by creating for his teammates in clutch moments before the knee injury. Different way, same impact. Different goals, different teams.

Still, they are a different level. But Rubio is extremely underrated.

You would give your left ball to have Rubio on your Lakers right now :lol

I agree that Rubio is very underrated (especially on ISH), I have Rondo above Rubio by a far margin but he is older and has been in the league a lot longer. Rubio should have forced his way out of Minnesota and on to a team that would surround him properly.

Currently for me, Rondo is like a 2nd tier PG. But well, PG is the most stacked position in the league right now... so that's not even bad.

I kinda understand why he stayed.
First he always liked to be "a star", when he was in Barcelona he was playing in a extremely good team but he didn't like his role.. i think same would have happened if he forced his way out to a better team.
Second, money talks obviously.
Third, i think he appreciates Minny for the way they treated him when the hype that he came into the league wasnt fully successful.

Not all hype. He was destroying everyone he met until he fell with that knee injury his first year.

lol because he's not a "tier 1 PG". He isn't nor will he ever be a top 5 PG. Mike Conley > Rondo.

It too upsets me when he does this. When you realize that Rondo is auditioning for a trade this will bother you less and understand that he is taking one for the franchise. The more he pads stats by passing up open layups for dimes and steals rebs from his big men for those "almost" triple doubles the more we can get for him in an eventual trade.

Hate all you want. It don't matter.

Top 5, Top 10...whatever. Rondo is a baller. His game is unique, he plays incredibly well in pressure situations and is a hard ass. Watch as the season evolves and you will hopefully see the Celts improve partly because of Rondo's example and leadership. I hope he stays on the Celtics for his whole career.

I can't hate on Rondo for playing like an actual point guard. If you surround him with good scorers again, he'll have Boston competing for a championship again. He's just not that guy you want as a number 1 or 2 scoring option.
