With all the free time he has due to not playing maybe they can have him work at a Foot Locker. A really busy one.

I don't know why so people bash Rose. Do you want him playing hurt? Do you want him risking his health for regular season games? Everyone knows how good he is. He has nothing to prove in the regular season.
I could see if the Bulls playoff chances were at steak but they are not. They can beat any team in the east regardless of seeding. Make them an 8th seed and they could still make it to the ECFs or Finals.

We know how good he use to be. You cant honestly say someone with the injuries of Rose has nothing to prove. He hasnt done shit since his MVP season. He has everything to prove.

I think the only real threat to the Bulls is Miami. I've known for a while that Cleveland was going to fail. They aren't going to win anything this year simply because of their defense. Not only are the Bulls very good defensively, but Cleveland's is terrible.
Miami with Dwyane Wade playing strongly in the playoffs is going to be really good. That's a big if but the Bulls fate depends on Wade's health.

Disagree here. As a max player it's fair to expect him to be a guy that is leading his team to victory regularly throughout the regular season. As he has himself said he's going to be missing games with ailments he could play through he will get criticized for choosing not to live up to the franchise player's standard. I can understand where he's coming from but throughout the history of major pro sports the stars have played with nagging aches and pains. He's falling short here.

Rose has played through injuries his entire career, and what did that get him? an ACL and MCL tear. ofc he's going to sit out when he has leg injuries. He played on a sprained ankle against the bucks, and it was obvious he couldn't move around the right way. He still had a better impact than kirk hinrich, but he still looked like crap, and he ended up re injuring himself, costing even more games.
So he can sit games that he's injured, or play when hes injured and keep getting even more injured... its really a no brainer here.

This. He is a max guy. Because of his contract, it is preventing the Bulls getting another bonafide star player that can create his own shot that will play for them. You could literally plug in someone like Rudy Gay and he will EXCEL for them. It's pretty safe to say Rose does not love the game of basketball, but he loves getting them paychecks. Heard he has a rolls royce :pimp:

He has a reason to not want to play with his ailments but he's going to continue to get criticized for it and the criticism will come from the hardest people to counter, retired ex-stars like Barkley that played with the ailments that are making him sit. You and others won't like it but if he's going to be this way then he's going to continue to be questioned.

I'm hoping he strings together some regular season games, the team needs him to carry his weight and develop chemistry with his teammates.
If he pulls this shit in the playoffs, sitting out when he's cleared to play and he's been playing most of the season, I will hold him accountable.
Right now, he's been taking the necessary precautions from having 2 serious knee injuries, but this year bulls have their best chance to win it all, he has to man up and play.

Rightfully so.
However rose relies nearly entirely on his athleticism. If he is/was to play through injury, his strength and weapon would be heavily reduced. He's a play who needs to be at full health.
Guys like Barkley had excellent post skills, they didn't rely as much on athleticism, so he could play through some injuries. Rose is no good to the team if he has no explosion or is limited physically.

Maybe he'll decide to play in the postseason with whatever aches he's going through but unless he changes his mind from his current stance he's never going to be worth the money he's making. Because, what's going to change? It's the beginning of the season and he's hurting. How will this get better as the season goes on? Every game he'll land on someone's ankle or get hit going to the basket and feel sore. And this will accumulate over the course of the season, even if he only ends up playing 40 games or whatever sad number he's on pace for. And it will get worse as time goes by. Not even pro athletes, just ask any guy you know over the age of 30 and he will have some ailments that bother him from time to time if not constantly. It's just part of life, and it's magnified for a pro athlete. We can debate whether or not it's right but there are plenty of players out there taking pain shots to get through game day. These pro athletes damage their bodies. It's just a part of the life they've chosen. If Rose can't handle that he really might as well retire because as he continues to play it's only going to get worse.

When Barkley lost his athletic ability he wasn't that good. Very few NBA superstars didn't have great athleticism as a part of their make-up. And Rose still has his. It just hurts. The "problem" is that one of the doctors or trainers that has treated him alerted him to the fact that the more he plays the worse these ailments get. Rose is right when he worries about what effect the nagging pains will have on him when he gets old. But what he's struggling with is that if he's not going to play whenever he feels sore then guess what? He can't do his job.

When Barkley lost his athletic ability he wasn't that good.
Only because he played WAY out of position his entire NBA career being a 6'4 - 6'6-ish sized Power Forward.
He even said the second he lost his hops, with his back injury, those 6'8+ guys he used to dominate on the boards or in the post suddenly seemed to be a lot larger.
He was skilled, but he needed his athleticism because he was totally out of position.

That doesn't make what I wrote any less true. As far as being "out of position" what else was he supposed to do? Not many 260 lbs guards. He was unique but because he was so good at what he did coaches knew they had to find a spot to ply him. Forward worked.

Just adding on. I don't think it's fair to say Barkley was bad when he lost his athleticism, as if that's purely how he made his bones on the court. He was skilled. Just an awkward tweener. Heavy, but had some Guard / SF type skills. But when that back took away his leaping ability he ceased to have the ability to bang or survive down low. Simply because he was so far out of position given his height, and length.
