Follow a lot of people

I dont want to follow for follow or anything. I want to build up a legitimate follower base of people who are actually interesting in what I am offering. How do I reach more people on Twitter?

If you're truly trying to break through with whatever business (most likely unintentional comedy gold and I can't for an ISH sleuth to track down your reddit/twitter) you're promoting, there must be better resources to find out about marketing through Reddit and Twitter than here.

It makes me sad to hear that. Why do people care about others personal lives? No one takes ISH that seriously anyway, which makes it great because you can make jokes and say shit that you wouldn't say in real life, which I guess makes it more entertaining. The problem is when people take shit too far and start "detective-ing" people. What is the point? Whose life does that improve?

Its more online entertainment, rather than products or services right now. But I plan to expand into selling products when I have enough of a following. Twitter, Reddit, etc., is just a method to generate traffic to my website. I understand however that your Twitter has to actually be taken seriously and provide value for the reader for a decent following to be built up, Im just wondering how people manage to get high numbers of followers.

Anything more specific? You won't get a following if you don't have a clear niche.

My roommate runs a handful of parody/anonymous twitter accounts that have a combine like 3 million followers are something. You just have to come up with an idea that will get popular with the most active users (young teens).

The bigger accounts usually trade retweets to gain exposure and followers and you can even straight up buy retweets from people as a form of advertising.
