View Full Version : James Harden's last 3 games without Dwight
31 ppg
6 apg
6 rpg
2 spg
51% shooting
54% 3pt shooting
90% FT shooting
Seeing this leads me to ask the question, is Harden better without Dwight? The team may not be, but perhaps Harden is. Or perhaps he just snapped out of his season long slump.

Here are the mpg played over the last three games:
Tarik Black (UDFA) - 21.9 mpg
Kostas Papanikolaou (48th overall pick) - 32.2 mpg
Donatas Motiejunas (15mpg last season) - 29.2 mpg
Harden is putting up those numbers, playing along side those players. :lol
I hope Harden does well, he gets so much hate

People were being idiots when they were harping on his fg%. Anyone who knew anything knew it was going to go up as the season went on. As far as being better without Dwight...no, he's not. He wasn't shooting well from 3pt land (and in general) up until recently and Dwight has no effect on that. He was just in a slump.

He's just had a stretch of good games, that's what all-stars do.

I mean I would imagine that playing with Dwight really throws you out of your groove, he clogs up the paint and his only offense is clumsy postup attempts to overpower the other team's center.

Kobe had one of his best offensive seasons playing next to him :confusedshrug:
Only problem I ever had with him was his FT shooting in crunch time...dude was so bad and cost us a lot of close games. Other than that, he's a great rim protector.
He tries to play like Shaq, but he doesn't have the size/weight advantage over his man like Diesel did.

It's amazing how losing Lin and Parsons has transformed this team defensively. Aria is a really good defender, but not enough to transform this team.
Lin, and Parsons especially, might have been much worse defensively than we realized within a team schematic.
Every time I watch Ariza play for the Rockets...I think that we could have signed him, Carter, and Blair for the price of Parsons....with a little left over.
We'd have a top 3 offense and a top 8 defense with those guys back.
Parsons really has to start playing a lot better....because at this point it seems like he wasn't helping the Rockets much and he certainly hasn't made the Mavs any better than Carter did last year.

lin was a turnover waiting to happen with putrid defense.

Parsons is one of those guys clearly out to get his. Playing for the contract, not the team. And he succeeded.

It certainly does look like Lin is a garbage player defensively when you watch the Lakers. I think the big loss is Asik. I haven't watched the Mavs much to tell how Parsons has been?
Rockets will be fine though.

Now that I see how Ariza fits into the scheme, I realize how important guys like Leonard, Butler, etc... are. Guys who can lockdown and teams best player on the perimeter.
When Parsons played in Houston, he was my second favorite player (other than Beverley) and when he left, it hurt, but I had to be honest with myself and knew that Parsons just did not fit next to Harden.
Parsons isn't elite at anything, he's just very good, slightly good, or slightly bad at everything.
It was sad to see him go, but this is Hardens team, and if someone was expendable, it was him.

Improved spacing with Montejunes at C just makes Harden's job easier.

Someone give me this post in English.
Black is D-league player, but other two are decent players.
D Mo was drafted in 2011 and never averaged more than 15 mpg.
If Papa was decent, he would have been passed up by 30 teams once and 18 teams twice in last years draft.

Asik is the biggest loss but there was no way the rockets could keep him. he cost way too much to be a back up, and he also hated coming off the bench. pretty sure he faked being injured half last season in protest.
asik basically forced his way out of houston, even if they wanted to keep him his actions made it impossible to.

I loved Parsons but not at the price the Mavs wanted to pay. I never bought into the hype that Parsons could be a third star. He is a really really good role player, but is not worth $15M a year. The Mavs can spin it all they want that Dirk/Monta/Parsons are being paid $30M combined and that isn't bad, but the Mavs could have done better in free agency not over paying for Parsons.

I don't care how well he plays. I don't care if he wins MVP. I don't care if he wins FMVP. James Harden is a piece of shit that I'm always going to hate, always going to root against, always going to downplay, and always talk shit about. He is the only player in the NBA that I only wish the worse for.

The problem with that is that Monta is up after this year, so is Tyson...and Parsons seems to actually just demonstrably hurt our defense compared to what we had last year in Carter / Marion. I mean...I knew we'd be worse there...and our defense overall is better with the shedding of Calderon and Dalembert, but ugh...just not impressed at all to date.
Long season though...we'll see.
