Just check the comments on the espn recap of last night.
http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/story/_/id/11934311/carmelo-anthony-new-york-knicks-exits-back-spasms

First of all, they act like its a birthright that the knicks be good. Secondly, they act like a contending knicks team is super important to the success of the nba.

Uhm, news flash, the knicks have only had one stretch of title relevance in the last 30 years. News flash, the nba is more popular now than ever. The knicks are an afterthought, the lovable loser team who is constantly oversold by its fans. I feel sorry for the reasonable fans, swimming in a sea of uninformed ignorance.

Calm down, bashing an entire fanbase based on a few guys on the internet??? Really?

No, no team is 'super important' for the success of a league but if the Knicks or Lakers are good it helps the NBA because those are the 2 biggest markets. If you dispute that, than I don't know what to tell you. But yes, the league moves even with the Knicks and Lakers sucking. I'm sorry you don't have thick skin and allow a fanbase to agitate you on the internet. Have a nice day.

So u base this dellusional bias off a few knick fans? Knicks fans are probably one of the only loyal and passionate fan base left in the nba. You got idiots like roundmoundofreb linking iq of fan bases when half this board (probably 30 percent) are bandwagoning idiots. Where do your iqs stand?

I've gotten into it with plenty of Knicks fans over the years on ISH. And I've grown up my entire life hating the Knicks franchise as a Bulls fan.

That said, it's not easy being a Knicks fan. It's torturous IMO. We all know they have a long championship drought. Getting to the finals twice(when MJ wasn't around ;)) and losing was brutal. Since the Ewing era, the Knicks have been mostly the butt end of jokes too. Usually rightfully so.

Then they got Melo. Sadly the only true bright spot of the Melo era was the one 50+ win season that ended in a butt whooping from indy. Now they have Phil but he's just a name a right now until success is achieved in some way.

I mean hell, look at Tyson this season.....a beast. Was it Phil's plan all along to have a tank season or did even he think this absolutely shit roster was capable of more?

Season is far from over but the Knicks just don't have it. Younger teams with bright futures already look better than NYK, like Orlando or Boston for example.

Now all of Phil's eggs are in 2015 FA and a good draft pick, which is nice but how many rooks have we seen lately that catapult a team into anything until a few years down the road?!

And speaking on FA next summer. Rondo? Gasol? Rondo could easily be had but we'll see if he gets traded this year and extended elsewhere before the Knicks have a chance. The Grizz look primed to be a true contender this year, is Marc gonna leave that situation to come to the Knicks? Right now I don't see it but who knows.

Knicks fan can be "delusional" or shitted on by other fan bases but if I was a Knicks fan, I too would be delusional, irrational, insane, or all 3 by this point in time too.

My question is, why did you have to link to comments outside of ISH? His has a nice history of delusional Knicks fans. Real14 is a ridiculous one that comes to mind.

Didn't he say the Knicks would have a better record than the Raptors? :lol

What???? What's delusional about a fan base that had the same idea of what will happen (besides maybe the idea that Phil will follow along with the masses)

Bargnani and jR are terrible, but they'll bring huge trade value back

Hard away jr, Aldrich, and Larkin are a legit big 3. Everybody just doesn't realize it yet.

Gasol will want to take the paycut to move the th knicks. That much is a lock. Just cause pau wouldn't take a 5 million dollar paycut to join Phil doesn't mean Marc won't give up 30 mill to come. His brother loves Phil so much. He will forget that Phil traded him

And even if Marc doesn't come it's ok because Durant will come for free.

A losing mentality doesn't make a fan base delusional. But believing that superstars will show up for free kind of does. It's not like it's LA, but it is still a big market team.

I have watched every Knicks game and the problem is at both ends, the triangle to me is to mechanical and predictable unless you have high IQ players which other than Prigioni/Jose they don't.

On top of that none of the big's can't defend, Acy at 6'6 is there best rebounder and Dalembert/Acy/Alridch can't finish around the rim with any traffic around them. Stoudmire just forces everything.

Aside from Shumpert and Melo there's no one really there to put the ball into the hoop, hopefully Jose can help them. They have 3 starting players in there entire team and one's been injured till 2 games ago.

It takes a special kind of loser to spend time reading news and comments from the team that you don't like and then if you read something that you don't like go whine a bitch somewhere else about it.

You must be so proud of yourself. :applause: :applause:

They scared now!

I can understand the Lakers or Spurs fanbases being entitled and arrogant because they've been good for so long. But why the Knicks? Just because New York is supposed to be the best at everything? They haven't been particularly relevant in like 15 years. They weren't spoiled by anything.
