Washington (CNN) -- Rep. Peter King, R-New York, said Tuesday that President Barack Obama should invite Ferguson police Officer Darren Wilson to meet with him at the White House.
"I think it would be very helpful if President Obama went and met with the police officer, or at least invited him to the White House," King said on Fox Business Network.
Will Obama go to Ferguson?
Obama speaks as smoke fills the streets
"And say, 'you've gone through four months of smear and slander and the least we can do is tell you that it is unfortunate that it happened and thank you for doing your job.'"
Reflecting on Obama's speech last night, King said he thought the President's remarks were "lackluster."
"I wish he said one good word about the police -- one good word about Officer Wilson who had gone through all this," King said, noting that the controversy affected both the defense and the prosecution.
After the decision not to indict Wilson in the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown was announced Monday, King put out a statement calling for peace and condemning the national narrative surrounding the controversy. On Tuesday, he elaborated his position.
"I thought it was terrible what happened over the last four months where this narrative was put out by our national leaders and by many in the media presuming that the police officer was guilty," King said. "And I think if we are going to have peace, I think it's important for both sides to be honest here."

anyways nice to see a politician actually keeping it real. theres definitely been a lack of support from national leaders for law enforcement in this country all playing into the black people guilt trips. fukk u Obama/Holder, agenda driven racist bitches :coleman:

The fact that Obama chose to assert himself in this case (like the Trayvon Martin one before it) does not sit well with me and will make me think twice before voting for another African American Presidential candidate.
I know that he is pandering to his base but the POTUS is the President for the whole nation not select demographics.

So what one black president does affects whether you vote for a different one on the idea that the black president inserted himself in a racial issue and you feel that is wrong? Ironic, no?

Black people in power are racially dividing the country.
Think about it:
Al Sharpton
Jesse Jackson
Eric Holder
Barack Obama
Those are the faces of Black Leadership you only see on Television, and they all happen to stick their nose where it doesn't belong. Jackson and Sharpton are just piece of shit race hustlers, but Holder and Obama are leaders of this country, and they go on National Television and say shit like, "If I had a son, he would look like Trayvon".
There are very few Black Republicans, but I would vote for a Black Republican. Maybe it's a Liberal thing, but you cannot have the President making this a race issue and siding with poor blacks. He should be the shining example of how you can be a pot smoker your whole life as a youth, and then become a President.

I would not rule out voting for a black candidate entirely but I am very disappointed how Obama and my Mayor Kevin Johnson (both of whom I voted for) have chosen to throw their 2 cents in to a situation that had nothing to do with them and predictably they have done so according to their racial bias.
When you are in a position of leadership you are responsible for leading ALL, those who voted for you and those that didn't, those of your race and ALL other races. IMO in terms of race relations Obama has proven himself to be homer.

not defending wilson because i wasn't there and do NOT have the facts, but, injustices happen everyday to people of all races and color - and when they do, most of us do not take out our anger on innocent bystanders. the ones that do are no better than those who wrong them. be a GOOD example of your people, whoever they are....

The worst part about it is we, the American electorate were forewarned. When Obama was campaigning for the Democratic nomination back in 2008 there emerged the story of how his pastor was that preacher, Jeremiah Wright. Obama distanced himself from the pastor (because it was politically expedient to do so) but now its quite apparent that he is cut from exactly the same cloth.

Clinton +10
Clinton +4

Mayor Kevin Johnson (both of whom I voted for) have chosen to throw their 2 cents in to a situation that had nothing to do with them and predictably they have done so according to their racial bias.
To elaborate on what happened yesterday: Kevin Johnson spoke out in pretty unequivocal terms within minutes of the GJ decision, obviously before he or anyone in his office had had an opportunity to review the evidence presented to the GJ or digest it.
He spoke about being "disappointed at the GJ verdict" and stated that he felt an "injustice had been done" using his position as Mayor as a platform for espousing his personal views on Ferguson he stated "The pattern of police violence against African Americans must end".
IMO getting involved in judicial matters in municipalities thousands of miles away is outside his remit as Mayor and is not what the taxpayers of Sacramento pay him for. Certainly will not vote for him again if he runs at the next election.
Anyway, here is the story:

It is sad that these officials are using their status to speak on a subject matter that has no effect on them. Rather than worry about Ferguson, he should be more proactive in his own city and make sure it doesn't happen there.
To end all this violence, all Obama has to do is fly down there and tell them to chill. Instead, he would rather give his opinion and let them terrorize the community.

Honestly, at times like this I really miss Bill Clinton. He might have been a scoundrel and a womaniser but he was a true leader who was inspirational and motivational and was capable of unifying people despite their racial or socio-economic differences.
Obama is a good orator but strip away all the glib comments and the platitudes and there is very little of substance there.

I'm a registered democrat, yeah I know you hate dems, but I will gladly vote for a republican if they put a viable duo on the ticket. You may not realize but a lot of democrats realize the dems are a bunch of spineless slimy bastards. But if the alternative (for example in 08) is allowing a ****ing trainwreck like Palin to be a skipped heart beat away from the presidency, well **** that. The republicans could do very well for themselves by not nominating proud anti-intellectuals (although McCain was not like that)

The officer should be invited to the WH for several reasons. One of them is to put a showcase of a black president supporting law enforcement officers and if a black president is cool with him then hopefully this will get the people of Ferguson to behave better.
Too bad Obama wants no part of this and he is the worst president ever.

Michael Brown: Violent theft of convenience store (FELONY), Unprovoked assault on police officer (FELONY), Tries to grab gun and shoot officer (FELONY), consistently disobeys cops orders and continues pursuit to attack Police Officer, autopsy reveals high on marijuana
Conclusion: VICTIM and HERO
Darren Wilson: Police Officer for 6? years, Serves public, Exemplary record, Has Never Fired Gun in Line of Duty, Takes Brutal unprovoked punches to face by 280 pound man in performance of job, fends off criminal going for gun. Despite injuries, continues to perform duties and pursue criminal alone on foot. Criminal turns to attack him. Criminal disobeys direct police orders. Continues to approach police officer. Uses necessary force to neutralize threat. Saves himself and possibly others. Cooperates with Prosecution and Legal system to best of his ability, despite enormous media and public scorn. Multi-ethnic Grand Jury, after hearing 3 months of testimony, exonerates police officer.
Conclusion: RACIST CRIMINAL
Protests, Rioting, Media Fabrications, Incitement...

Mix that up with several shots at the back of a fleeing suspect, witnesses who contradict a lot of Wilson's statements including Brown's hands not being inside the police car, Brown's hands not being in his waistband as he charged Wilson like Wilson claimed (!?), noone hearing Wilson give a verbal order to stop and you're getting closer to the truth. And since a grand jury is not the forum to sift through contradictions like this, we should be headed towards a trial which is the proper venue.

Wilson never shot at Brown while Brown had his back turned and was running away, that's simply ruled out by the physical evidence. All the bullets are accounted for, and none where shot at Brown's back.
Witness statements that directly contradict physical evidence aren't very viable. You are still mixing up the hearsay from before the facts where known with the clear cut evidence now released.
At the end of the day the side of the witness statements that exonerated Wilson lined up with the physical evidence. It's great that the details of the physical evidence where mostly withheld, so that all witness statements can be cross referenced in this way.

Not according to this article. Many witnesses came forward supporting what the Officer said happened. As well as forensic evidence. And from what I read, the witnesses who said Brown had his "hands up" have already been discredited.

witness testimonies conflict. considering the track record of ghetto black people consistentlly lying for their agendas, the guilt trip and agenda placed on black people in this case where they can't even be honest in fear of being attacked by incited brown supporters, and the consistency in testimony that ALL WITNESSES saw a scuffle, they ALL saw Brown move forward towards Wilson whether it was a stagger or charge, those are LEGIT grounds to shoot that criminal joke of a martyr.
you all discredit yourselves so much using him as the face of black injustice...and every other race everywhere not caught up like a dumbass sheep buying into the guilt tripped for slavery and owing black people forever WILL be voting Republican to spite the politically correct stupidity that buys into all of that nonsense. they might not openly say it but i bet their votes will, just like mine.
the riots, Obama/Holders race agenda bias, and using a OBVIOUS criminal as a martyr are turning off people from supporting anything pro black movement, who might otherwise have sided on the left with their votes. Left supporters here can pretend Hillary has it all locked up but Republicans sweeping mid terms and taking the Senate isn't realistic to that.
you all are shooting yourselves in the foot with this and good luck ever getting a black Prez elected again :facepalm

Well done Godzuki and Bagelred. I'm annoyed at how the media appears to be ignoring facts and adding fuel to the fire. The fact that many blacks appear to completely ignore facts like the autopsy evidence and a majority of witness accounts that support officer Wilson, shows far more racism on their end.
