how is davis better than cousins?

cousins is capable of initiating his teams offense, not the one finishing plays off alleys/transition/putbacks and as only the roll man. hes a much better passer and rebounder, actually makes his teammates better and is a good defender now

besides looking at the boxscore how is davis a better player?

Two points is two points, why does it matter whether it came from the post or from alleyoop/transition/putbacks? If anything, that's a plus for Davis since he doesn't need the ball to put up a lot of points. Not to mention Davis puts up more points with better percentages.

How is Cousins a better passer and better rebounder? Cousins averages more rebounds because the next best rebounder he plays with is Rudy Gay, who averages 6 rebounds. While Davis is playing with Asik, who averages like 10 at the centre position. They both grab around 3 offensive rebounds a game, so that's a wash.

As for passing, Davis averages roughly the same amount of assists as Cousins while averaging like two less turnovers.

Not to mention Davis' superior shot blocking, inside defense, and perimeter defense.

Before you mention that Davis plays more minutes than Cousins, thats because Davis is smart enough to stay out of foul trouble. Which is a negative on Cousins' part btw. You can be the best player in the game playing just 31 minutes per game averaging 5 fouls per.

This is probably the weakest season I have seen in a long time.

It will likely be Durant if he returns this season but for now Marc is putting in serious work on both ends of the floor.

It's not even arguable that Davis is a better passer just stop. If you knew anything about DMC you'd know his TOs are from dribbling not passing.

Pauk, shut the **** up LeBron is not top 3 so far this season.

Which means he shouldn't be dribbling that much. Davis has much less iso opportunities, so he has less opportunity to showcase his passing skills as well. It's not like DMC's passing skills are on the level of Noah or Gasol to make it a huge difference in the DMC vs AD argument.

Threads name is "Who is the best player in the NBA right now?".

Lebron is the best player in the NBA "right now", his ability to play basketball is overall better than anybodies.... "RIGHT NOW"........ "RIGHT THEN"..... "RIGHT NEXT TIME".... "RIGHT PREVIOUS YEAR" and "RIGHT NEXT YEAR"....

How his current 11 game stretch with the completely new process of teammates/coach/strategy/role looks like compared to others doesnt change that..... unless we changed the thread title to something like: "Who had the best stretch so far?" or the OP made it clear that is the criteria we have to go after...... but that is not the case.... even if that is the criteria, it will still be Lebron at the end of the season..... why? Because again, he is the best player "RIGHT NOW".....

This thread is made every year, always by a Kobetard and the responses are made like you see above, even when its CLEAR who is the best...... they cant wait, they wish for it so bad, so somebody can be better than Lebron, just anybody.... pleasssseeee..... but it never happens, you never learn....

To answer OP, Kevin Durant is clearly the best player in the NBA right now. Despite being injured, he is still very much in the NBA and is still very much its best player.

5-7 in a historically weak conference.

Two things wrong with your post.

They are 6-7...

And, how is it historically weak? People on here, mainly Western Conference team fans, and in particular Kobe fans like yourself have constantly spouted this, yet people on here have constantly proven this isn't close to being the biggest discrepancy between the top teams and the others. As of tomorrow there will be 7 teams at .500 or above. How is this historically weak if I can find you over 10 examples of either conferences being in more dire need of competition?

Honestly, can't decide between DMC and AD. Davis has the stats, but I'm not sure 100% of those stats manifests itself into impact on the court, whereas watching Cousins, this dude is incredible in terms of what he does for his team. I know people like throwing out the narratives of "oh he's not a good defender, just another one-dimensional player"...when he's been a huge part of that team's resurgence defensively..98 DRTG (to a 111 ORTG), he makes his team's defense 13.8 points better when he's on the floor, and right in between Davis and Dwight in DWS.. Criminally underrated defensive anchor, incredible offensive player. And people are slowly realizing that his "head case" label is off base, he's just passionate as ****. If only he could foul less and play actual superstar minutes...his per 36 stats are insane, 26/14/2/2/2 on 58% TS..

But all in all Lebron still deserves the distinction of best here. Obviously he's not playing to his usual standards but I think he's earned the benefit of the doubt, that he should get it together as the season progresses. If he's still underwhelming in January, February, etc? Then yeah someone else could earn that right.

Im Still Ballin

Cousins is winning games, unlike AD.
:applause:
People just don't realize how big of an impact DMC has on the team. Everytime we have blown leads or lost games it has been due to Cuz foul trouble. When you watch him on the court you can just see how the offense flows through him and on defense he is progressively getting better as that paint protector. He will only get better with experience.

Agreed. That 1.5 game difference with obviously different supporting casts is all I need as well to declare one player over the other.

There is no way coming into the season you could convince me the Pelicans supporting cast is worse than the Kings. They are playing better for a reason and I think we know who/what that is.

And I wouldn't have been convinced either that the Raptors were going to come into the season playing better than the Cavs, but I'm not going to attribute it to Lowry playing better than LeBron. I'm saying there's many different factors going into play of a team's record than just their best player.

"Every year"...Durant last year wasn't just outplaying Lebron over a few weeks...the dude was flat out dominating the league at a visibly and statistically higher level than Lebron for the majority of the season.

I'm not saying KD > Lebron just yet, but for the second time, this is serious revisionist history on your part.
