I made a thread like this about top 15 ever, 1 and a half year ago. Just curious about what will be the arguments when it comes to just talking about big men.

1. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
2. Bill Russell
3. Shaquille O'Neal
4. Wilt Chamberlain
5. Tim Duncan
6. Hakeem Olajuwon
7. Moses Malone
8. Charles Barkley
9. Patrick Ewing
10. David Robinson
11. Karl Malone
12. Dirk Nowitzki
13. Kevin Garnett
14. Bill Walton
15. Kevin McHale

After Moses Malone, things are getting hazy. So many close calls while thinking versus' for each other. 13th spot seems a little low for KG even for me, yet I don't think he's not greater than Barkley, Ewing, DRob, Malone and Nowitzki. So many two way calls right there.

And there are so many names to discuss about being left out, such as Bob Pettit or Bob McAdoo or Willis Reed, or even Nate Thurmond. But i wasn't so sure about extending my opinion towards the players I haven't seen much of them.
(I think I've seen enough to have a general opinion but not enough for a well-detailed opinion like listed names.)

How is this based? Karl Malone had a better career than Barkley. Is it measured on peak impact on the court?

Put Dirk at 8, he isn't a ringless loser lol

1. Kareem
2. Russell
3. Duncan
4. Shaq
5. Hakeem
6. Wilt
7. Moses
8. Dirk
9. Garnett
10. Barkley
11. Robinson
12. Malone
13. Petit
14. Ewing
15. McHale

Our lists don't differ that much. Dirk needs to be higher, and Robinson is certainly ahead of Ewing -- at least in my opinion he is.

In terms of peak play, do you think Dirk was better than the 4 he's directly ahead of?

I also agree with the Ewing/Robinson thing. I don't see a case for Ewing over Robinson at all.

I think peak Barkley is the 2nd best PF ever (after Duncan). Problem with Barkley is when he left his prime he met a steep dropoff.

I would probably take peak Garnett over peak Dirk, but Dirk at his peak was a better Playoff performer than Garnett was (and I think 80% of your legacy is made up in the postseason). I think there are more scenarios where Dirk can win you games/series/titles than KG (basically a monster offensive player or a monster defensive player). Whole seasons considered, I think I would take KG. But Dirk, over the course of a prime, was more effective than KG (again, in my opinion).
