Obviously we all know that the champions are not necessarily the best team, given the wildcards that are injuries/imbalance of conferences/etc.

With this in mind:

2014: Spurs
2013: Spurs
2012: Spurs
2011: Chicago
2010: Boston
2009: Lakers
2008: Boston
2007: Dallas

Any more obvious candidates?

Depends, because the "best team" may not have won because of injuries

All depends on what your definition of best team is I guess

Maybe if a team loses a top player DURING the finals. Like if the early 2000s Lakers lost Kobe or Shaq in game 1 of the finals or if KG was injured in the 08 finals. Short of that the best team won. No excuses.
