Replace Heat 2012 with Heat 2013, and the series would be a lot closer. Wade 2012 vs Wade 2013 may make the difference against Spurs 2014.

Well, I think 2013 Heat was better than the 2012 Heat during their streak. That's when Wade was healthy. Granted, he played better while hurt during the 2012 playoff run than he did in 2013, I still feel the Heat was better as a team in 2013 when fully healthy.

2013 Heat also had Chris Anderson, who helped them out a lot.

Then in the playoffs, the Rockets went 15-8, the Mavs went 16-6, all while playing comparable competition in the postseason. I'm not debating how they would do head to head, the fact remains both teams seasons were about even in terms of W-L record, MOV, playoff record and postseason competition. Hakeem & Dirk also carried the biggest burden out of almost any player to ever win a championship
