View Full Version : I can't lie about Kobe anymore...

He's been the best 36 year old/in his 19th season player of all time. He's only helping his GOAT status with this amazing comeback after two catastrophic injuries.
HOWEVER, he is not the same Kobe. He's at about 75% and if he stays healthy, we will see him return to form after about 25 games.
He has the worst supporting cast in the league, but his clutch play has been inexcusable.

Firstly, Tony Wrotten's supporting cast is far worse (and he's shooting above 39%)
Also, Wilt, Karl Malone, Kareem, Duncan, Stockton were all better 36. Most of those guys took more miles on their bodies in college than Kobe did rotting on the bench.
Using arbitrary cutoff points to make Kobe's case.

You don't even have to go that far back. Dirk at 36 NOW > Kobe at 36.

He looks 60%. Imagine when he's 100% again. 36/6/6 anybody?

He would have ability to go to the basket, beat people off the drible and get waaaay more free throws.
In this league, I'm thinking he would put up
33/8/8 on 49%FG

Hell 38 year old Tim Duncan has a more positive impact on his team than Kobe.

He's been the only 36 year old/in his 19th season player of all time.
