Just by watching the games and looking at the shot chart, it's obvious that the place he struggles shooting from the most (outside the 3pt range), is the post. Dude 32/111 (29%) from 3 to 16 feet away from the basket.
On the flip side, he's shooting 48/103 (47%) from 16 feet to the 3pt line
Dude has been ice cold from the high post, he's missed one easy shot after another from that place, which has really killed him and his team this season.
Some of it comes from playing him too much at times and he starts taking bad shots from frustration, other times they are just easy opportunities that he's messed up.
I do not expect this trend to continue for the rest of the season, because usually those spots have been his strength throughout his illustrious career. In 2013, he was 221/474 from 3 to 16 feet, he was very efficient shooting from the high post, he was among the 3 best post players (per statistics) that season, at one point, he had the highest pps and fg% in the post among all players, and that's the season both Lebron and KD were killing it from there as well.
Just take a look for yourself

To sum up, Kobe's efficiency (barring injuries) will rise due to the simple fact that he's missed shots that he normally makes in his sleep. He's obviously not going to be as effective as the years past, but he will improve athletically and we'll see a more efficienct Kobe as the season goes on.
Thank You.
