Just wondering if any NBA team ever used a curved backboard?

I believe the NBA has always had a square backboard regulation.
That said, not everyone always used the same rim system. I don't think it was until around the '94 season that they decided upon a uniform brand and specific type of rim. Before then, some arenas had buckets that were more loose or breakable than others, alongside other unique in's and out's.

That's one thing about basketball that I've always liked. This has more to do with my high school days, but those little quirks is one of the few things that can make one gym/arena stand out from another. Can even change an entire gameplan if you know you're going to Gym A and it has soft, forgiving rims that make for a shooter's paradise; or Gym B that has tight rims so you have to be more selective when taking jumpers. A school in our conference played in an old gym and their baskets had those infuriating double rims. You knew going in you weren't scoring anywhere close to your season average as a team because jumpers sure as hell weren't going to fall at a normal rate.

Shorter rims killed me psychologically. We had a couple of gyms in our conference that had rims that were either slightly bent or just flat out installed an inch or two low. Awesome for pre-game dunk shows, way less cool for in-game shooting.

Yeah, another school in our conference played in one of those 2,500ish capacity arena style gyms which already made shooting more complicated; but their rims were closer to 9'11" or 9'10". Made actual shooting in games frustrating as hell. It's amazing how much a rim being just an inch or two lower can throw off your shooting. The pre-game layup line was always a blast when we played in that gym, though.

Do you just post whatever bullshit pops into your head when you're high?
I remember as a youth, I used to play basketball on the grass, barefoot. much better for your knees. Will we ever see a barefoot league of basketball played on the grass?
