I very much agree with OP. this is just another prime example of unjust reffing when it comes to kobe and the lakers. Even though the raptors didnt have a timeout, the refs should have given them one since they asked so nicely.

The league has always favored major markets.

My biggest pet peeve is when refs start making calls to benefit the losing team or to keep the game close when one team should be getting beat by 20 or more.

I've seen games where they will not call a foul if a team is up by 10 or more. They make the same call for the team that is losing. It's so blatant. It's like WWE, artificial momentum shifts.

Should have been a technical + paused clock even if Raptors were out of timeout. Clock should not be running period after a timeout call like that.
