What Kobe did was impressive, but this is a LeBron thread and whether you like it or not LeBron >>> Kobe this season, so not sure why you're bringing him up....

Most surprised with his free throw percentage to be honest.

LeBron is the GOAT of stockpiling meaningless awards. Particularly those that are media given.

I wonder if he'll repeat as the Xmas MVP this year?

Kobe's actually not that far off from catching Bran after a slow start to the season :confusedshrug:, dude's still playing into shape but is putting up 27/6/5 vs Bran's 25/6/7

It's actually closer than you think, Kobe's game against the Raptors is on par with Bran's best this season.

Yes I agree, 4 MVPS, 2 FMVPS, 2 TROPHIES, 2 Gold Medals and a ROY awards are all meaningless garbage.

believe me, he will say that wade/refs should have won fmvp in 2012 and ray allen/refs should have won in 2013.

You literally just proved my point. All of the awards you listed besides 2 are media given.

ROY should have been Melo's, and both of those FMVP's were undeserved. I would have gave 2012 to Dan Crawford and 2013 to Manu Ginobli.

These MVP awards are retarded anyways, so it doesn't matter.

How many MVP's does Duncan have? Or Kobe?

It doesn't matter, because it's a pointless award.

Weren't you spamming this board constantly about KD's MVP last season?

To troll the people who ever placed any importance on the award to begin with.

I said from the beginning that I didn't give a shit whether Durant won it or not.

So KD has essentially has done nothing in his career worth noting? Good to know

Good lord, can you imagine if Kobe spent his whole career in the East....

They'd have to change the "POW Award" to the "Kobe Bryant Award" :lol

No shit.

At least he hasn't bitched out on his team to go team up with a FMVP and take the easy way out.

Pretty lame to call it a record considering prior to 01-02, there was only one for the league, as opposed to one for each conference (which is currently the case).

Why would he leave a stacked team? But I'm glad you acknowledge that KD is essentially worthless

Yet we call Russell having 11 rings a record despite the fact that the played in an era with like half the teams on average.

:facepalm Where did I say that they weren't?

Saying that Wade is a FMVP =/= saying that media awards aren't meaningless.

This. They should call if a post 2002 record. I doubt he'd have half of those if they still had one award per week.

Your implication that Russell didn't "really" win 11 rings.

So it's just as easy to win a Grey Cup as a Super Bowl? Fact is, it was easier to win rings back when Russell played.
