Right now there are 8 clear teams in the West.

MEM
GS
POR
HOU
SA
DA
LA
PHX

Then theres the kings, pelicans, bottom feeders and the Thunder. As far as I am concerned the top 7 are locks for the playoffs. The Suns are pretty good, but vulnerable. Will OKC make the playoffs, or will they miss the playoffs with two superstars in their prime?

No they wont and when the inevitable happens, we will have to rethink the whole 'superstar' label for Durant

We are seeing a return to team basketball versus the individual superstar domination of the 00s.

Individually, he is as good as anyone. But just having the best guy isn't good enough anymore. Especially in a conference like this years West.

Yes, they will. The hole's not deep enough. They won't have HCA though.

If Durant or Westbrook miss another extended number of games, kiss the Thunder's play-off chances goodbye. The West is going to be outrageous this season.

Absolutely, 8th seed. PHX and SAC are letting their lead go. They are inconsistent and lose way too much for their 5 game lead to be enough until regular season is over.
The rest are good enough to keep OKC behind them the rest of the season.

Pop will shit himself if OKC grabs the 8th seed

Pop will sit Duncan and Parker for the last month of the regular season before that happens.

It would be a travesty if they didn't.

No way a team like the Suns should be there and not OKC.

We want the best in the playoffs. It will be funny as hell watching teams tank to avoid the Thunder :oldlol:

yeh im not sure having the number 1 seed would exactly be classed as an advantage this season. :oldlol: spurs vs OKC would be a wicked first round series. we'd get to see a new contender in the WCF

6-8th seed will have very few wins margin between them so tanking for 2-3rd seed would be foolish.

Let's say Spurs needed to lose their last game of the season to avoid OKC.

You can bet your ass Pop will throw that game :oldlol:

It will be like teams tanking for the lottery.
