Gotta say, visually this movie captures the tone of the first two movies pretty well. I was pretty excited to see parts of T1 recreated so well (from the trailer at least).

The end of the trailer was cheesy as Hell but I'm hoping for a fun romp, even if I have to distance it from the all-time greats that are the classics.

The chick who plays Sarah Connor you can tell put some time in trying to come off like Linda Hamilton. I'm def not cool with an Asian T-1000 but I'll get over it....maybe

Throughout T2 they hammered us with the idea that it was his humanity that will keep the resistance alive, yet he lost all of his sense of humor/humanity in Salvation and we just got Batman voice the whole film. Personally after Terminator 3 I lost interested in the franchise. So many people have played John Conner it's just hokey now. The CGI in this film looks horrid as well. Salvation was okay, but didn't feel like it was part of the series. Too many changes now to the film.

Basically, Im thinking this will be a bad movie but I will most likely enjoy it on a vapid level. I'm not pleased with that scrub Jai Courtney playing a character like Kyle Reese; this was a soldier of fairly regular stature-a dude scorned and scarred from a nightmarish upbringing. He was a survivor that got by on obedience and resilient ferocity. Not some standard bulky hunky scrub with no charisma. Terrible casting. I'm also annoyed at having an Asian T-1000. They already cast a dude (Matt Smith) who looks a lot more like classic Patrick than an Eastern-based head. I gotta say though, his action parts look pretty cool how the scenes were written. Pretty tough how he formulates a Liquid Metal Spear and gives it momentum as projectile.

I was pleased with the atmosphere and vibe they seemed to have filmed with. Obviously, this movie was NEVER going to be able to stand eye to eye with Camerons but they paid respect I felt. Pretty sure Jason Clarke will go down as the best iteration of adult John Connor. Never had a problem with him, The other Clarke gives a definite Hamilton vibe. I could see it when she got the part so if they're gonna have another Sarah, I'm on board with her.

Seems like the future setting is handled well. Good to finally see the Time Displacement equipment given mythos in the Police scene with Silberman in the first Terminator. Arnold seems like he will be VERY hit and miss. I'm sure I will be embarrassed at certain parts; watching Escape Plan the other day re-affirmed how much I love to watch him on screen just to geek out.

We'll see. Never expected anything worthy but this gives off the Terminator aesthetic far better than the last two.

Skynet sends a T-1000 back to kill Sarah as a child because it's previous attempts to get rid of her and her son failed. She is saved by a reprogrammed T-850 (that seems to be what they're calling the older one) who then stays with her to keep her safe since her family were murdered by the T-1000.

Years later Kyle Reese and the T-800 from the original timeline arrive when they were supposed to but but the timeline has been altered due to Sarah growing up without a family and having only a machine as a protector. She already knows about the coming war (presumalbly being taught everything by the T-850) and all the other attempts Skynet has made (or from her perspective will make) on her and John's lives. So she's there to save Kyle knowing that he won't be prepared for a T-1000 and the T-850 is waiting for the T-800 when he arrives.

The T-1000 (and this part is mostly guess work) I assume is the one that killed Sarahs parents. She and the T-850 have been on the run from it since he saved her as a kid.

If that's right then it means that at some point in the 1990's another T-800 and T-1000 will arrive and in the early 2000's the Terminatrix will be in for a nasty surprise.

Differences in opinions, I know but T3 was a total POS that i couldn't sit through, at least salvation was a tad bit more easy to swallow.

I don't feel they nailed the casting but I trust James Cameron. He hasn't let me down yet. While Avatar was overrated, it was still pretty damn good. I hope he doesn't mess this up. The asian guy looks like the wrong the guy. It reminds me of the the bullish*t they did at the end of The Bourne Legacy. That asian dude sucked as for the hype of his character.

Desh was a way better bad guy and his fight seen was awesome. Casting matters.

The Sarah Connor Chronicles was far better than anything post-T2. That's not saying much given the options but it was a solid show. Lena Headey > Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor.

It's a shame it had such an incredibly slow start. Season 2 was excellent but I think they lost too many viewers by that point.
