was he worth his salary? How will this season be viewed?

lets say Bulls wind up in the finals in large part because of Rose' post season play

Can't think of anyone who'd complain about a Finals appearance

Besides the '04 Lakers and 2011 Heat of course

If the Bulls somehow make finals and win the championship, it will be fairytale stuff for Rose.

This is a guy who is fighting time on his body completely falling apart. I hope we can squeeze a championship in this small window we have...

If he succeeds in the POs, it would obviously be worth it.

He's already missed 9 games, and left really early pulling himself out in 2 or 3 of them.

It's annoying. It's disheartening. BUT ...

With that said he has shown in the games he has played, that he's easing into the game, and he looks much better than he did last year where he was pressing. Hopefully he is gearing himself up for the playoffs. We've played well even without him in the lineup.

If we get the Rose we've seen in special glimpses in a few of these games, like shades of his MVP self? Getting to the rim at will, and hitting the 3 ball? Come playoff time? We can beat anyone in the conference with that Derrick Rose.

People don't realize Rose is playing limited, monitored minutes.

Their stats:

Rose 16 ppg, 5 apg in 27 MPG
Irving 22 ppg, 5 apg in 37 MPG

10 whole minutes more a game. That's virtually an entire quarter difference in production time.

While shooting 42% as the number one option...

Irving is playing with Lebron and Love yet is still better in every category

Doesn't that help Irving, not hurt him? Bron has been a distributor, and Love is a rebounder. Defenses are still concerned with LeBron first and foremost. Derrick still gets the most defensive attention for Chicago when on the floor even though not having played the past 2 seasons.

I brought those guys up to say he doesnt get as many touches

Derrick has Gasol that averages 20/11 and Butler whos averaging around 22ppg. Its not like he has no help either

Either way, a healthy Rose is still better than Irving. Im just saying this season Irving is better

Obviously. Irving is healthy and is doing a lot more for his team when he's on the floor.

Rose is obviously not in his best physical shape and his timing will need some work due to not having played much.

Rose is playing with low intensity in games right now.....he is really easing himself into the games...which given his injury history, is the approach that clearly both him and his coach/organisation have decided to take.

Plus it allows his team mates to do more, which will bode well for the team come playoffs....gasol is balling!!

Fine with me, if he plays like a stud in PO..

like Sam Cassell said, the lights come on properly when the POs start.

Rental Rose won't do, I'd rather see his minutes increase as the season progresses. You'll want his coach and teammates to adjust to him playing starter minutes before the playoffs start, say a month or two.

Its obvious that's what the Bulls organizations goal is. They have been very supportive in working him in slowly. They are the one's who decide his worth and how it works. They are playing big ball and don't care much for the other goals.

He will be revered. That is basically what Westbrook did last year. If he does it, than no one will btch about him. The Bulls are gonna do ok in the regular season, they need him to get over the top in the playoffs. People will btch and moan, myself included till he does it in the playoffs though.

the difference between 2011 rose and this years rose was that 2011 rose played with 48 minutes of intensity. Rose this year doesnt have the luxury of playing that way because of his health concerns. He looks to be going through the motions most of the time only with a few minutes in the game where he catches an adrenaline rush of the game and goes into an intensity mode. That being said i believe rose will turn it up in the playoffs and we will see 2011 rose again but better in a way that extrapolates the teams potential instead of playing hero ball.
