Already have Embiid and Noel.

Would they draft Okafor, Towns, or some other big? Next year's draft looks big-heavy.

Noel isn't special enough to pass on Okafor. Best-case for Noel is that he develops into a player like Camby. Assuming they don't trade the pick and they have a shot at Okafor they take him. Embiid may be great but having Embiid and Okafor would be a wonderful problem to have.

Passing on Okafor for an SF may be like passing on Tim Duncan for an SF. A team on pace for 4-5 wins shouldn't be drafting on need anyway as they seem to need everything. If Okafor and Embiid are too redundant they can make a trade to correct the issue but you don't take a far lesser talent in the draft out of need when your team sucks. Whoever has the #1 pick must take Okafor. If they don't they will be getting fired within the next 3 seasons.

They'd draft theoo if they could get away with it.

Masochistic franchise.

I think they would. They're still so far away from competing that they're just going to pick the best player available and figure it out later.

Plus Embiid is no sure thing thanks to his injuries, and Noel looks like he'll need a few years to bulk up before he can contribute much of anything.

They will almost certainly draft another big if they have one of the top two picks. They will prob trade Noel if that happens but they may not. You can guarantee that they will take okafor or Townes with the 1 or 2 pick. After 2 who knows. But don't be surprised if they made a deal after that.

They will take Emmanuel Mudiay if possible.

a year or 2 away. I'm hoping the tanking stops after this season tho.

Tanking is done after this season for sure. They'll still suck next year but they'll be in the later part of the lottery not vying for the worst record.

If by the time the draft comes 'round a center is the best player available, if I were Sam Hinkie, I'd pick him. Noel has had a disappointing rookie season so far, and it's not like they couldn't trade him or Embiid for a wing if need be (or do the frontcourt version of what the Suns are doing with Dragic, Bledsoe, and Thomas).

Noel has been far from disappointing. He's performing exactly as they imagined he would. If anyone had expectations higher than what he's doing right now as a rookie then they were not being realistic.

They'd be stupid not to take Okafor.

So you're passing up Tim Duncan 2.0 b/c you have Noel? It's like passing on MJ b/c of Drexler. STUPID

exactly

they're collecting assets. you're not going pass on kevin durant because you already have lebron james. you take the best talent available and then make trades when necessary

They need a SF.

Saric wont be here no time soon. Sims is a rotational big at best. And last you never take need over BPA. Not in the Sixers position who will have a top 4 pick. So if they wind up with the #1 overall pick it has to be BPA, and that would be a big. Not a big Okafor fan. But you take him and explore options after you select his name. Be it trade him for a proven player, trade back (take a need + other nice addditions) or move Noel. So in short you have options.

Sixers can always find their needs in other ways. Spend money on it, trade for it, draft it with the second first round pick courtesy of Miami.

The end. :pimp:

Of course they would. Noel isn't all that good and has zero moves on offense.
