Would Phil win multiple rings with Pop's Spurs teams like he did with the Bulls? Would Pop win as many rings with Phil's Bulls teams?

It's hard to say. I think Pop's authoritative personality would have been less successful with the kind of egos that Phil had to deal with.

Pop. But Pop's Bulls wouldn't do as well as Phil's.

Why do you say that?

I know ONE THING, the Spurs were TAILOR MADE for the triangle offense. Duncan, Manu, and Parker would have been EPIC in that system. But Pop with MJ and Pippen would have been EPIC as well. But for me, I would take Phil wrecking shop in SA with the triangle. In many ways, the Spurs might have been a better fit for that offense than even the Bulls or the Shaq-Kobe Lakers.

One thing to keep in mind when you do phil vs pop debates is phil had rebuilt teams to deal with crappy .players like puke walton and shush parker while pop always had talent around him.

Guys like Phil and Pop are lucky because they've been blessed with all time talent since day one, or day two in Pop's case.

Pop in was 17-47 in his first year, and was 56-26 in his second. Did he magically become a great coach in one season? No, because Duncan came to town and saved his ass from being fired. Does that mean he's not a good? No, but it means he had job security thanks to Duncan and had more opportunity to work with his core compared to a lot of other coaches in the league.

Phil had Michael and Scottie from day one with the Bulls, and had Shaq + Kobe from day one with the Lakers.

Jerry Sloan had Stockton and Malone for a decade. Did he invent the pick and roll? No, John and Karl has already been doing it for a few years before Sloan started coaching. He was able to develop a system around the pick and roll BECAUSE of Stockton and Malone, not the other way around.

Red didn't start winning until he had Cousy, and Bill Russell.

Point is, I think these guys are good but overrated as hell. Put someone like Larry Brown in place of these guys they'd probably achieve the same if not better results.

Erik Spolstra won back to back Championships with LeBron and Wade, who's to say he won't win a couple with Michael and Scottie? Had LeBron stayed and played with the Heat for his whole career and won a couple more championships, Spo would be viewed as a great coach too.

Mike D'Antoni was a considered a genius back in Phoenix, looking in hindsight he was just a product of the greatness that is Steve Nash.

People considered Byron Scott a good coach when he had Kidd, and Paul as his team. What about now?

Great players make great coaches in this league, not the other way around.

To be fair, D'Antoni made beasts out of Raymond Felton, Jeremy Lin and Kendall Marshall (out of all people).

Not sure about the first threepeat squad but Pop wouldn't cut it with the second threepeat Bulls. He hated Rodman's guts and couldn't stand him as a player. Basically traded him for trash just to get him out of SA. Pop doesn't handle players with ego all that well.
