We're ALL IN on tanking and getting a top 3 lottery pick. DO NOT start winning and getting out of a top lottery pick.

In the NBA, if you're going to be bad, be so bad that you get a potential great player in college.

There's no one that's worth tanking for this upcoming draft. They're just an embarrassment and there's no excuse for it. They lack talent, motivation, and atrocious defense in the paint.

The only guys putting in 100% effort and playing with heart are Shane Larkin and Amare. Not one player takes Fisher seriously.

with the #1 pick the NY knicks select ...

GOD BLESS we gettin some young talent. Phil Jackson working his magic doe. We get a young C that can work on his rebounding and 2nd chance opportunities on carmelo's bricks and then he'll have the team for himself.

Do they have a draft pick for 2015? I think they traded that pick

Even if they get the No. 1 pick, that won't turn them around. A rookie won't get them to the playoffs.

Okafor is very Tim Duncan-esque.

If I'm Phil Jackson, I draft Okafor and still go after Marc Gasol in the off-season. If we can't get our hands on Okafor, I'd go after Okafor's teammate in Justise Winslow who can be like James Harden, but with defense.

I'd also try to get a second first round pick in this draft. I think there are a bunch of sleepers out there. Trade whatever assets we can and get some coachable youth on this team.

They traded their 2016 to the Raptors, and their second round of 2014 and 2017. Crossing my fingers for the Knicks to suck next year too.

If Marc really changes his team the only other I could see would be the spurs.

Marc to knicks is a pipe dream.

I kind of feel sorry for the Melo, why did he stay there, he is gonna waste this year and probably the next one too when he could have went to the bulls or something. He even admitted that the team was built perfectly for him.

But now he took a fat paycheck to watch his team rebuilding and yes they will have to do this unless they will do the same mistake by overpaying bunch of not yet to be the all star players.

He looks good to me. V good. I dunno if he's Tim Duncan, but he's very good. Def who I'd take. Take the good player who also is high character and smart. GG.

I'm gonna assume Fisher is in on the tank job. That would be the only reason to have Amare in the game at the end of the game when they need a stop to win. No coach with a brain would allow that right? RIGHT?????? :biggums:

Yes, us Knicks fans do. Last year they were bad most of the year and then won something like 12 out of 15 to get close enough to making it in as the 8th seed. Do we want a repeat? Hell no. Tank and get a top 3 pick. I'll take #1.

I'm on board with this. I also got to wondering : might they trade Melo next year? Something's up with this team.... I wonder what Phil has in mind.

This is what the NBA has become.

Either be competitive, or tank.

And the star players look to join other stars, in an attempt to build a "super team."

It has become a league where about one-third of the teams are really good, and the rest are trash. And then it becomes a battle of the trashy teams to either fight for a low seeded playoff spot, or completely mail it in in an attempt to get a high draft pick.

And the coaches of the garbage teams have to face the dilemma of fighting for a playoff spot, and perhaps not making it...and thereby losing a possible lottery pick. And probably getting fired in either scenario.

hes leaving memphis http://nypost.com/2014/12/04/knicks-likely-to-whiff-on-marc-gasol-is-okafor-new-hope/

As the Knicks plummet to the bottom of the league, a source told The Post the club doesn’t believe its chances are too good of landing the Grizzlies stud center with their 2015 cap space — not that Knicks president Phil Jackson won’t try like mad.

Filling the center position in the triangle will be the top priority this offseason as the Knicks can lose all of their big men because of expiring contracts. It’s unlikely the Knicks will re-sign any except perhaps Cole Aldrich.

Gasol is thriving in Memphis, having a career year in a city he has said nice things about. The Grizzlies own the second-best record in the NBA at 15-3 and Gasol is averaging 19.4 points per game and eight rebounds, becoming the best center in the game. (He has a bruised knee and is questionable for Friday.) Memphis can give an extra year — and extra $30 million — on a max deal.
The Knicks’ lone edge is Gasol is best friends with point guard Jose Calderon, his teammate on Spain’s national team.

While the Knicks, who lost 90-87 to the Cavaliers Thursday night at the Garden, were confident they would land LeBron James entering 2010 free agency, they realize the odds are against them for Gasol. If he leaves Memphis, he likely will choose a title contender, not the woebegone Knicks.

Don't be so sure.

It's a good bet that he was around Phil a lot during Pau's / Lakers B2B Titles. Got an up close look how Phil is on and off the court.

If Marc wasn't in that position to get close to Phil, then I would agree 100% that he's not going to NY. But until he signs any but NY, they still have a chance because of what I noted above.
