Kobe is definitely not a bad passer.. quite good actually.

It's the willingness with him.

This. Kobe is a great passer. Just chooses not to be at times. Led the Lakers in assist 5 times in route to championships.

Melo just isnt good at it.

Carmelo is basically what Kobe detractors make Kobe out to be.

I've seen OP say that exact same thing... For OP its Kobe = Melo, same player but once was given the Spotlight in LA and Shaq :lol

OP also thinks Kobe = Iverson

A lot of ballhogs have high assist totals because over the course of the game theyre eventually gonna be forced to dump it off at the end of the clock a few times.

Just like point totals dont indicate the best scorer... guys like iverson, kobe, melo have so many misses and bad efficiency but still the same totals as lebron, durant, dirk..., raw assist numbers dont tell a complete story bc ball dominant players have so many opportunities to pick up assists here and there even if theyre not really good distributors.

Kobe led 5 title teams in assists, bro.

Are you nuts?

Kobe led more title teams in assists than Lebron will ever have titles...period.

Every player has highlights.

He has a bunch of them, and he has a much better ast/to ratio than Kobe.

Then how come Melo's assist averages are so low in comparison to Kobe?

As usual, your entire argument is completely broken and can be dismantled in one sentence.

Use the eye test. Kobes playmaking ability is fine.

Kobe is actually a highly gifted passer in terms of natural vision and pure ability, it's just that his shot selection isn't great and he goes into gunner mode too often. Dude has some unreal playmaking highlights when he's in a good situation, like the Frobe years and 08-10 repeat teams, and doesn't feel the need to go into Retardbe mode like he's doing with regularity right now.

Melo isn't terrible..I'd say he's a hair below average...it just looks terrible because we're used to seeing star wing players have high-level vision like MJ, Lebron, Wade, Kobe, etc and Melo just doesn't have it at that level. Also he's got the same scoring mindset as Kobe but he's not nearly as good at it as prime Kobe, so his lesser vision is highlighted even more.

Kobe will retire with the most assists from a non point guard of all time.

Kobe actually has great court vision and ability to dissect a defense. He just has an alpha gunner mentality. Comparing him to Melo is such an insult. Melo is what Kobe detractors pretend Kobe is.
