Ouch at Stauskas and Mcdermott. I told y'all: Rookies are VERY rarely true impact players. Bulls fans were acting like Mcdermott was gonna be a big piece to the team already.

According to this lovely stat, Chris Paul and Jeremy Lin have the same defensive impact.

Kobe is too busy arguing with refs to play defense.

Seriously. **** Kobe. No real Laker or basketball fan likes this guy. Only noobs and stans.

Alot of white guys.

That alone tells me it's a legit metric.
Whites have poor lateral quickness compared to blacks. It would make sense that they'd be worse defenders on average. And sure enough there are a lot of whites on the list, along with older dudes like Kobe and lazy defenders like Melo.

It is true doe... considering the % of white players in the league and the % of the white guys on the list.

White men can't jump? Bitch please, it's white men can't guard.

What does this stat mean?
Player's estimated on-court impact on team defensive performance, measured in points allowed per 100 defensive possessions

j3lademaster
12-12-2014, 03:15 PM
What does this stat mean? It's the +/- of points allowed when a certain player is on the court. Which is why it has little to do with one's team sucking, because that same "bad" team is defensively better with you off the court if you're negative.

Of course like all stats there's certain context you need to take into consideration, like if a certain player is being played with a bad/good offensive/defensive lineup or certain players who push the tempo when they come into the game will have lower defensive rapm's even if they're good defenders.

But this has been the most consistent way to measure a player's value because it's a stat you can't "pad".

Defense is a team concept, nobody would look good defensively on this team cause fisher doesn't have a clue. He had 4stls and a block though so he was definitely active other than leaving a couple of wide open 3s like twice.

You're talking out of your ass now.

Look at Melo's defense this game play by play. He gave up wide open looks when all his other teammates are playing D. He goes to almost double a player and his man cuts to the basket for the easy layup.

His D is non existent. It's becoming Harden levels of D.

You are nitpicking, and choosing to ignore when he does play good d. He held up on Dirk when he was on him and played good physical d forcing him into tough shots and turnovers.
