It's out today. Has anyone seen any of it? Ten episodes comprise this first season. I'm gonna give it a shot.

Commercials seemed a bit melodramatic.

Only saw several commercials

1. didnt Kublai khan already control all of china by the time Polo went to china? the trailer for it made it seem like the mongols still had areas of the song dynasty left to conquer

2. Its absolutely ridiculous for Polo to shout at Kublai Khan.

3. Its ridiculous for him to engage in combat.

I wish they would just do a historically accurate TV series of Marco Polo. His life was interesting enough.

It is still debatable whether or not he ever made it to China. But the Southern Song held out until 1279 which means if his notes are accurate Polo would have gotten there like 12 years before the Yuan Dynasty had truly taken over the Song regions.

This show so far seems like poor man's Game of Thrones, though it's a good enough snack before the real thing comes back.

OP, since you are a fellow Spartacus fan, I will trust your judgement. I miss that show but realized it had to end :(

If you jump in to this show, I'm in too. Just say the word.

:oldlol: OK, in the OP you already said you will give it a shot :hammerhead:

There needs to be a show based on the life of Genghis Khan. Dude was so badass that most people watching it would probably find it unrealistic

I saw the first episode. I'll give it a 7/10. It kept me interested enough to see what the rest of the series will focus on.

First episode seemed a bit over the top for me but I stuck with it.

I'll say this...

When Kublai and his brother did what they did?

Just screamed "unlikely".

You dont settle issues that major like that.

Tried watching the first episode last night but fell asleep.

Not sure if it was because of the show or the twelve beers I'd drank.

Saw the first two episodes and I thought it was good.

Yea, it's a bit too "hollywood" with Marco Polo being witty as fcuk with Kublai Khan and just escaping his room while personally exploring the city probably would have gotten him executed.

But I do like the character development.

PS, Spartacus the GOAT TV series to that one poster who mentioned it..

Yeah, Spartacus is probably in my top 5 favorite series of all time. I know it had it's issues, but there was nothing I looked forward to more than I did that.

As for Marco Polo, I'm also 2 episodes in. I know in the 1st episode there were a lot of nekkid women but nothing was hotter than that scene in the 2nd episode. Holy shit... need more info on the actress and who she portrays, the concubine :oldlol:
