I don't understand
Why are you being so mean?
You're mean mean man
[Chorus]
You are just jealous of me
Cuz you, you just can't do what I do
So instead of just admitting it
You walk around and say
All kinds of really mean things
About me cuz you're a meanie, a meanie
But it's only cuz you're
Just really jealous of me
Cuz I'm what you want to be
So you just look like an idiot
When you say these mean things
Cuz it's too easy to see
You're really just a big weenie, big weenie
[Verse 1]
Alright listen, I need you to focus
I need you to go dig deep in your mind, this is important
We are going to perform an experiment of the sorts
I'm going to have to ask you to bear with me for a moment
Now I need you to open your mind-your eyes close them
You are now about to be placed under my hypnosis
For the next four and a half minutes
We are going to explore into your mind
To find out why you're so ****in' jealous
Now why did they make Yoo-Hoo?
Hippity ga-ga boo-boo
Psych, I'm kidding
I just wanted to see if you're still listenin'
Ok, now I need your undivided attention
Sir I have a question
Why do I always sense this undeniable tension
From the moment that I enter into the room
It gets all quiet and whispers
Whenever theres conversation, why am I always mentioned?
I've been dying to ask, it's been itchin' at me
Is it just because
[Chorus]
[Verse 2]
Alright now I, I just flubbed a line
I was going to say something extremely important
But I forgot who or what it was, I ****ed up
Psych, I'm kidding again you idiot, no I didn't
That's just what you wanted to hear from me
Is that I ****ed up ain't it?
But I can bust one take without lookin' at no paper
It doesn't take a bunch of takes
Or me to stand here in this booth all day
For me to say the truth, ok?
You're droolin, you have tooth decay
Your mouth is open, you're disgusting
What the **** you eat for lunch
A bunch of sweets or something, what?
You munch a bunch of Crunch 'N Munch?
Your tooth is rotten to the gum
Your breath stinks, wanna chew some gum?
Yes I do sir, what am I on?
You sir are on truth syrum
Marshall I'm so jealous of you
Please say you won't tell nobody
I'd be so embarrassed, I'm just absolutely terrified
That someone's gonna find out why I'm saying
All these terrible, evil and awful mean things
It's my own insecurity!
[Chorus]
[Verse 3]
Alright now we, we're going to conduct
That experiment that we were talking about earlier
Just to see what a frog looks like when it takes two hits of ecstasy
Cuz that's exactly what your eyes look like, want to check to see?
Here's a mirror, notice the resemblence here?
Wait, let me put these sun glasses on
Now look in this mirror, how about now?
What do you have in common?
You're both green with envy and look like idiots with sunglasses on 'em
You look like I sound like singing about weenies
Now take my weenie out of your mouth
This is between me and you, I know you're not happy
I know you'd much rather see me lying in the corner of a room somewhere crying
Curled up in a ball tweeked out of my mind dying
There is no denying that my weenie is much bigger than yours is
Mine is like sticking a banana between two oranges
Why you even doing this to yourself, it's pointless
Why do we have to keep on going through this, this is tortuous
My point is this
That if you say mean things, weenie will shrink
Now I fogot what the chorus is, your just is...
[Chorus]
This song is a hot mess and why Eminem is NOT a top 5 all-time. Half his catalogue is garbage like this.

Relapse was the beginning of the just rhyme for the sake of rhyming Eminem began.
60 sluts, all of them dying from asphyxia
After they sip piss through Christopher Reeves sippy cup
Dixie cups, toxins, boxes of oxipads
Enough oxi-cotton to send a ****ing ox to rehab
Whack job in the back in a black stocking cap
Jacking off to a hockey mask at a boxing match (He can't say that)
Yes he can, I just did ******, now guess again
Better text message your next of kin, tell em shits about to get extra messy especially when I flex again
Throw a ****ing lesbian into wet cement
Faggidy, faggidy, fagidy, ragidy Ann and Andy,
NO! Ragidy, Andy and Andy
NO! It can't be, it can't be
Yes it can be, the ****ing Antichrist back Danny and Satan in black satin panties
This is Amityville, calamity god damn it insanity pills fanny pack filled with Xanax
Through every nook and cranny looking for trannies
Milk and cookies spilled on my silk
Negligee lookie
Razor blades with me to make you bleed,
Cases of Maybelline make-up laying on the table of weed
Slim Shady shit sounds like a fable to me
Until he jumps out of the ****ing toilet when you're taking a pee.

His albums are def overrated bc hes white, and theyre geared toward rebellious suburban white kids. Which even tho thats precisely what I was myself, I never cared for that style of rap. :oldlol: "when I was six my mother took my bike away bc i murderer my guniea pig and stuck him in the microwave" :lol :facepalm
But hes spit some crazy hard features on other peoples albums. He can rap with anyone and is easily one of the most talented lyricists ever. So from that standpoint hes not really overrated. But his album catalogue is grossly overrated. Aside from a song here or there on each I dont even find them listenable.

I agree, there's no denying his talent. I think he's more geared toward battle rap and 'freestyling' than he is to making more traditional tracks. Always said he's just a White Canibus.
That damn annoying Cartman voice he always does really angers up the blood.

His first three albums are arguably the greatest in the genres history.
Recovery is somewhere in the top 10, the 8 mile soundtrack is legendary, and MMLP2 is a lyrical masterpiece
Eminem is easily number 1 and racist black people are rightfully upset that he dominated the one thing they can relate to, rap music.
Even Em's throwaway songs are better than anything you hear today from black artists

Oh he's white? Must be overrated. No.... if anything, he's underrated. Imagine if a black dude came out with an alter ego and produced the type of hits he has, all the while having insane freestyle ability and GOAT level technical abilities in terms of writing and actually spitting.
He's the whole package. Technical skill and MEGA hits that will last the test of time.

Best selling rap artist of all time.
When he was at his worst, addicted to drugs and overweight, he put out some bad music. He admits it, he has moved on and lyrically is the best rapper out there right now. Most people are too stupid to even understand his word-play.

His first 3 albums are classics to me. Its funny, deep, really pours his soul out on them. You can tell how passionate he was. The beats are also great, plus theres the nostalgia of me growing up with them.
I think he was a lot better then than he is now. Hes sick now just flowing, but he doesnt have as much to say anymore. Obviously thats going to happen over time with an artist, but it doesnt appeal to me as much anymore.

I think his depth comes from the fact that he can do a song like that one, and still do a song like Kim, and then still do a song like Hailies song, and then still do a song like Cleanin out my closet. Sometimes hes just trying to be funny, sometimes hes just trying to say some crazy shit and be in his battle mode. And other times hes being crazy honest and real. The first three albums showed every one of those traits, not to mention just great basic rap skills, especially the ability to control his tone, change the emotion is his voice, switch up his flow, etc etc etc.
Note... Pardon the sloppy ass nature of my posts lately. The apostrophe button broke on my keyboard. lol...

The standard that to be the in the discussion for GOAT half of your catalog should not be garbage.
The "he gets hated on because hes white" excuse irritates me. Sure it does, maybe, but its also the reason why his fan base is so huge and why he is so successful at the very same time. Hes good when hes good, but one of the worst to the point its disrespectful to the culture. So many aspiring rappers would dream for his oppurtunity so he cant put tracks out like Big Weenie-ever. The "he was on drugs it doesn't" count excuse doesn't work because every rapper is on something.

How is half his catalog garbage? Infinite is solid (especially for an up and comer, not famous yet), SSLP, MMLP, and Eminem Show are at least solid, or classics depending on who you ask. He killed it on Devils Night, although the rest of D12 is meh. His contributions to the 8 Mile sound track are amazing. Nearly every collab and mixtape he did was absolute fire for the first 5-6 years he was out (Renegade, the Benzino disses, Love You More, Dead Wrong). That is more than half of his catalog and none of it is garbage.
I wouldnt blame you for calling Relapse garbage, although I find it sometimes decent to listen to. But Recovery had some great tracks on it, despite being somewhat hit or miss. Im not a fan of MMLP2, so Ill give you that one. Encore obviously wasnt very good, but its underrated at this point. It isnt a great or even good album, but its not garbage. At least it has some really funny moments (Rain Man, Ass Like That, even Just Lose it are all funny). Also you have Mockingbird, Toy Soldiers, and Never Enough, all songs good enough to rank with some of his best.
I havent kept up with his music lately, but obviously his flow and wordplay are through the roof right now. I liked his old style a lot better, but I think itd be nuts to call his current output garbage. Not a fan, but garbage? Nah. Nicki Minaj is garbage.
Obviously it is all opinion based. Nas has made garbage. Jay-z has made plenty of garbage. Tupac even had garbage, though never an entire album you would consider mediocre. Most Lil Wayne is garbage. Everyone drops shitty tracks or shitty albums.

Discounting the influence he's had on young artists like 50, royce, and the whole slaughterhouse gang. And he's had plenty of good shit with those guys since 2002.

There is like 2-3 good songs on each of his last 3/4 albums. He has been trash and I loved em back in the day. MMLP2 was terribr. Recovery was ehh. Relapse was cool. Encore sucks.

Big Weenie def sucked. But 95% of his 15 year career is hall of fame worthy.
"Some people only see that I'm white ignoring skill cuz I stand out like a green hat with a orange bill but I don't get pissed, yall dont even see through the mist, how the fuhck can I be white, i don't even exist!"
"You wanted an intimate date I want to intimidate"
His wordplay is next level, but like I said, it goes over most people's heads so they don't appreciate him. No worries, greatest selling rap artist of all time and respect from all his peers, must be doing something right.
P.s- has a rapper ever took a shot at Slim? It would be career suicide, no one fuhcks with him

Eminem in retrospect actually isn't very proud/fond of Relapse..
Definitely overrated as far as how great he is. First of all, I'll admit that I haven't paid much attention to rap since like the mid 00s. Call me an old geyser or whatever, but with Southern rap and G-Unit/Shady/Aftermath dominating during that time churning out garbage after garbage, just lost interest. But from my knowledge, his catalog has been garbage since Eminem show/8 mile, and not just garbage but some of the worst music in hip hop history. And IMO even those first 4 albums while still great(Infinite, Slim Shady LP, Marshall Mathers LP, Eminem Show) don't compare to many of other classics from the 90s i.e. Illmatic, Ready to Die, Me Against the World, OB4CL, Infamous, Hell On Earth, It Was Written, Reasonable Doubt, Its Dark and Hell is Hot, Capital Punishment, etc.
With that said, at his best he's had some of my favorite tracks ever i.e. Role Model, Brain Damage, Way I am, Criminal, Hellbound, Scary Movie, Till I Collapse, Run Rabbit Run, etc. Seriously, if he just stuck to those type of tracks, he might be favorite rapper ever. I was never into garbage tracks like Without Me, Just Lose it, Ass Like That. Didn't even understand how people thought those tracks were funny. And I was never into his "emotional deep" tracks like Cleanin out my closet, Mockingbird, Toy Soldiers, etc. Just seemed way too forced and/or clich

Your right, he sucks.
All the artists who respect him and collaborate with him are wrong. ISH is right, Eminem sucks and is not succesful or a good rapper.

eminem's been skating by on reputation for about a decade now. he came into the game as that crazy white guy who talked about beating women but actually had rapping ability. blew up mostly because he was white and talked about a bunch of ****ed up shit like how he wants to kill his mom and beat women all the ****in' time. white suburban kids ate that shit up and he became a god to them and he moved crazy units so other rappers wanted to get in with him. he can rap for sure, but his content is absolute garbage and his voice changed also...he's higher pitched now and just sounds like an old man. and his old albums are ****ing trash too. i liked him as a kid, then grew up and realized he's still a 14 year old angsty teeanger who happens to be 40 years old

He's very dexterous technically, one of the best I've heard when it comes to intricate rhyme patterns and shit. He's not interesting at all anymore, though so I don't listen to him. I liked a lot of his old freestyles. SSLP and MMLP were great. Not a fan of much after those 2.

Eminem's catalog reminds me a lot like Jay-Z's. At times both were releasing top notch material and could put together a verse one would expect from a GOAT level rapper. Most of everything else is garbage and makes you question if they were ever really that great or if it was just a few year fluke.

Is this a ****ing joke?
Jay-Z catalogue is a glimpse into where he is in various parts of his life. The underlying theme to every album is success. Each album is a logical progression in his career from the projects to becoming a millionaire.
Eminem is more introspective and deals with his turbulent life and emotional instability. His albums are insecure whereas as Jay-Z's are confident.

If you would have read the whole comment you would have seen I was talking about the overall quality and nothing at all about their subject matter being similar.

Jay-Z hasn't sold as many albums as Eminem.
Also, according to Nas, Eminem killed Jay-Z on his own song.

They both killed it. Eminems verses were more standout because of his energy and crazy rhyme schemes. But JayZs lyrics had great meaning behind them. Both of them came with it.

Lol it's basically your body of work. Your catalogue includes all mixtapes, albums, songs, etc.

Seriously?
Okay well thanks anyway
But if its everything, why not instead of saying "his rap catalogue is overrated", say "he's overrated".
