Looks like the kid is starting to put it together, not too bad for the 'second worst number 1 pick ever' and a player with 'zero offensive skill'.

So much room for him to improve too. Kid will be special, don't believe the hate.

special? nah maybe a 3 time all-star, but he will never be special.

so wrong. might be the fastest guy in the league already, can shoot threes, can post up, can shoot midrange, can take contact hang and score, defends like a doberman, and he is only a month and a half into his pro career, hasn't even really had his number called yet either, and once he adjusts to the defense and gets his handle tighter, he already has most of the other pieces to his game that great athletes usually need to add. He simply needs to harness and correctly use his athleticism, which is a lot easier than developing the other skills he already has in place.

KD & AW duel :lebronamazed:

Wiggins looked good in the 2nd half, helped the Wolves pull close but OKC ran away with it in the end...that block on KD was nice.

Lebron was averaging 27 7 and 7 at wiggins age

Correct me if I'm wrong but he's been improving since Kevin Martin's injury right? Should the Wolves trade KMart for some young assets to free up room for Wiggins?

I think so

[QUOTE]With injuries to Nikola Pekovic, Ricky Rubio and Kevin Martin, the Minnesota Timberwolves are shifting the focus of the season to a rebuild.

Flip Saunders headed into the season hopeful that it would be more of a "retool" with a "blended" roster.

I like Wiggins, but even with these 3 games he needs to work ALOT on his ball handling skills. Without it, he's just Anthony Morrow out there with less shooting.

Use a game where someone scored 18 on 38% in a 25 point loses to say someone is special

Your eye for talent is terrible. No one respects your opinion.

If Wiggins can improve his handle it will open his game way up. That will be the key to him being a real offensive threat unless he plays in a run and gun system. Spreewell couldn't dribble ever but especially at the beginning of his career and playing for Nellie made him look like he could score. Later he could handle a little better (but still not good) and was more effective overall as a player.

no need for spree... just what i have posted no one even cared to dispute it.

Was derozan this good in his rookie year?

I didn't see you post in this thread, so I'm not sure what anyone is supposed to be disputing.

Someone is mad.

Writing is on the wall PB, the post up game, midrange and 3 are all legit already.

Once he learns when and where to go, it is over.

The ability to handle the ball under pressure, and go where you want to go on the dribble, requires a kind of natural talent that Wiggins, in my opinion, does not have.

On the other hand, pay close attention to him on defense next time you watch him. When his team's on defense, look at him, not the ball. He has an instinct for defense that is greater than 98% of the league.

He is no more likely to be an initiator on offense of the level of McGrady than a guy like Nash is to be a lock-down defender. The instincts aren't there. He can work himself to a certain level of competency, and play within his limits; but guys like him will never be tier-1 initiators.

And even besides his handle, I think the idea that he is "raw" offensively is wrong. His offense is more patterned and predictable, and requires more effort and practiced technique, than most rookies I have seen.

However, I will say that he brings maturity, and defensive instincts, that are VERY impressive for a rookie.

:applause: Keep it up young fella. We should all be rooting for you. The NBA is going to need some transcendent young stars. And I do agree that he doesn't necessarily show the skillset to be a all time offensive force, if he can even make it to be a consistent All-Star, that will be a success for him and the NBA.

I'm a bit concerned that once Kobe and Duncan are gone, and LBJ starts declining followed by KD and Westbrook, we're going to need some new charismatic and athletic/skilled lead players. Not seeing that from incoming classes lately...

Wiggins has been about the only rookie doing anything so far this season. The rest have either been inept, or injured.

Anyone who's watched Parker extensively this year, especially the past few weeks, will tell you he's clearly better than Wiggins. He's just on a decent team that doesn't let him chuck like people thought he would, with guards that make a conscious effort to not find him.

BTW, he may wind up having a good NBA career. And I certainly don't blame him for "taking the money and running", but he really needed another year or two of college.

Incidently, UCLA's starting PG is averaging 18 ppg and 7 apg this season.

He hit clutch shots against Portland when the Wolves were starting to unravel. I've always said this kid is going to be good. Just lol at the idiots that called him a bust. I wanted Portland to tank to get Wiggens. If somehow we could get him I can see a championship for Portland.

No way in hell Portland was gonna be THAT bad to land Wiggins :lol

Nobody expected the Blazers (at least I didn't) to be this good last year, but they were certainly a lot better than the Cavs/Sixers/Celtics/Jazz/Lakers/etc with LA and Lillard leading the way. I expected a 40ish win season, certainly not 54 though.
