Kobe is getting nearer and nearer to be considered GOAT. When it is all said and done GOAT is going to get that respect.

I have to admit, if this statement is true then LeBron really lost it

Don't see how LeBron would call a guy who averages 2 ppg less than him and shoots 5% worse one of the greatest scorers, unless that implies LeBron is the clear cut GOAT scorer

Lebron knows talent. Look at how he scouted Wade, Bosh, Kyrie and Love. You know this too, he won rings with the first two.

As much crap as I give Lebron, he knows talent.

GOAT is taking a shot at jordan using kobe. Just like jordan did to him. It's like when 2 kids are the best players, and each kid thinks he is better than the other. And then there's this third kid who sucks compared to them. Then, when talking to other students, one of the superior 2 kids may say something like, "Michael isn't even that good, kobe is better than him" even tho he knows kobe sucks.

What Lebron suppose to say? I hate his guts? Don't be fooled by public personas. Lebron and Kobe hate each other. Or at least Kobe hates Lebron, but Lebron wants to be Kobe's friend.

Of course Bron looked up to Kobe as a kid.

Don't forget, Kobe came into the league in 1996, and won the dunk-contest as a rookie.

He then made the all-star team in his second season, and was the youngest all-star in NBA history. (Don't know if that record still holds or not).

Lebron was 12 years old or so at the time. I know he's said in the past he looked up to Magic, Michael, etc, but to think he wasn't watching a young Kobe lighting sh*t up would be foolish.

Well, he's right when talking about scoring. 81 point game, four 60+point games. I think MJ, Kobe and Wilt(32x) are the only 3 players to have at least five 60+ point games. Kobe is an all-rime elite scorer.

One of only 4 players to score more than 60 points multiple times (tied with MJ, he's done it 5 times, Elgin Baylor has done it 4 times, ...the other guy I'll mention below) and he's got the record for a perimeter player, and the 2nd highest total of all time.

But about that other guy... you see it's impossible to assert that Kobe could be the "greatest" with a straight face when you just take a glance at what Wilt did... Wilt is hands down the greatest, he has as many 60+ point performances as all other players in NBA history combined... and with higher totals :lol

That article shows that Lebron has a lot of respect for Kobe :confusedshrug:
Lebron been giving Kobe props forever, he was having the season of his life in 09 and he called Kobe the best player in the game. He admires him.

What do you have to back up your claims about Kobe not liking Lebron though?

They're competitors and when they're going up against each other, they don't hold back, but that just shows the amount of respect involved. I haven't seen Kobe take shots at Lebron's game or diss him for anything. They won 2 gold medals together and always show love when their teams face off. Kobe didn't attend many Laker games when injured last season, but showed up both times to watch Lebron play. The documentary about their relationship goes even further in detail about how they get along off court.

98 MJ won MVP while playing about as well as 2013 Kobe...let that sink in.

2013 Kobe was actually the more efficient player on offense and had a better overall impact on his team in terms of +/-.

A prime SCORING Chamberlain... 32.8 ppg, (and that does not include his 45 ppg regular season, in which his teammates were so awful, they didn't make the playoffs.)

Also, a SCORING Wilt played in 52 post-season games, or ONE-THIRD of his 160 playoff games...THIRTY (30) of which were against a PRIME RUSSELL, and the greatest dynasty in NBA history. And a SCORING Wilt only played in ONE Final, and he averaged 29 ppg on 24 FGAs, on a .517 FG%, in a post-season NBA that shot an eFG% of .420...and it was ALSO against RUSSELL.

MJ's scoring and efficiency took a CONSIDERABLE decline when he faced the PRIME "Bad Boys" from '88 thru '90. Shaq's took a solid hit against the Robinson-led Spurs from '99 thru '02. And a PEAK KAJ's scoring and efficiency fell off the cliff against Thurmond and Chamberlain in his playoff H2H's against them from '71 thru '73.

Futhermore, if you include REGULAR seasons, which involve FOUR to TWENTY-FIVE times more games than the playoffs...and a SCORING Chamberlain's COMBINED scoring just blows MJ, and EVERYONE else AWAY.

:facepalm :facepalm :facepalm
