What if NY didn't fall to the Bulls in 1993 and faced off against Phoenix? How epic would that Finals have been? It wouldn't have had the star power of MJ vs Sir Charles, but the league's best offense going up against it's best defense (I believe the Knicks had the best defense that year) would have been interesting.

Oh, and this little fracas would have added to it:

Suns would have won a ring.

Suns would have matched up better against the Knicks. By that time, Ewing was already too in love with his jump shot and the Knicks weren't going to win with a chucker like John Starks as their 2nd option. It was clearly much harder to draw up a defensive game plan for the Bulls than it was for the Knicks.

Barkley would have had a tougher time scoring inside, but Majerle and KJ wouldn't have had to deal with 2 of the greatest perimeter defenders of all time. Suns would have won it in 5-6.

92 Knicks vs. 93 Suns would be a better series in my mind.

Despite the regular season record the 92 Knicks are far scarier than 93.

In 93 vs 93, my gut says Suns win in a long 6 or 7 series with one blowout Suns win. Knicks had the best defense and Suns had the best offense that year. Suns have homecourt.

It really depends on who goes off. If Ainge/Majerle score 30 or if Starks goes off. Ewing and Chuck will get their numbers. In the two meetings in the regular seasons they're 1-1. One game where the Suns shooters went off and one where they didn't.
