View Full Version : Miami Heat need to make some moves.

The Heat need to make some moves to stay relevant in the playoff race. I think they should trade McRoberts and Deng and get some young juice.

McRoberts is lost for the season, Bosh is ailing and Wade is not reliable so the Heat need to do something to stay in this race. As of now Bosh and Wade are the cornerstones so a complete shakeup of the roster could be a good starting point to a refresh.

At two games under .500 there is still a salvagable canvas to work with here. Riley should pick up some better pieces.

This franchise has seen better moments.

Maybe a big man that can consistently rebound and defend the paint for Deng?

But then you'll have to depend on Granger to start and play the whole season at SF.

That's fine. A center and Bosh should be the main focus of this group right now. Even a McGee/Bosh frontcourt or a Hibbert/Bosh frontcourt could be an improvement. And I feel Spo needs to recognize this right away. They seem outmanned now after a promising start.

Bosh is out indefinitely. Spo will sit Wade at even the slightest hint of an injury, to preserve him for the PO's. Granger sucks, Deng is inconsistent, Rio is average, Cole sucks, etc.. Riley is being a stubborn ****. When is he going to realize that Miami NEEDS a center? :facepalm

I really wanted to see Wade play against LeBron in the Playoffs. :facepalm

I was actually thinking about if they can get McGee or Hibbert, but I don't see what Miami could trade for them.

Denver has a bunch of SF's in the lineup with Chandler and Gallo, and the Pacers have a star SF in Paul George already.

Maybe look into sign Jermaine O'Neal and/or Okafor? They suck, but if they can give you a decent 10-15 minutes each along with Birdman it wouldn't be too bad.

I would trade the vets for picks in the next few drafts and try to draft the next Wade and Bosh, who will have Wade and Bosh to teach them and develop them. Tank and test the loyalty of the Miami fans, the true ones will stick through it.

Is Granger really as bad as his stats indicate? Can't believe how much he's fallen off over the past few years.

Bummer :(

they played really good in their first few games, just kinda fell apart after. Too many weaknesses that they didn't fix during the offseason.

Riley has some work to do, as well as some tough decisions to make.

Lol they weren't getting out of the first round with everyone healthy. Now, they probably miss the playoffs. LeBron = GOAT

They need to get healthy first. How many games has everyone played together? But yeah, been saying for the longest time that getting a legitimate C who can rebound and play D would do wonders for them. They have some pieces they can leverage, question is who do they go after?

Has Napier been doing poorly? I haven't watched much of Miami at all, not really sure about his game/level at all, just curious. Mostly because I'm painfully desperate considering our PG situation, and Dennis Schroder seems to be untouchable in Atlanta. Also we have some FC depth that might help you guys out, with Henson, Zaza, etc..if not rim protection, at the very least some size in the paint.

The defensive effort is not there. Everybody on this team has gotten lazy in that department. The lack of rebounding is killing them for sure...but this team shouldn't be ranked 26th in defense. They need to trap more with their guards like they used to. McRoberts was almost a pointless signing...for this team anyway. He's a horrid, horrid rebounder for a power forward.

I'd be willing to give up Napier, but honestly, we might need him if Cole winds up leaving to cleveland (didn't sign extension, he's from ohio, rich paul is his agent, he's good friends with bran.)

Napier is very quick, but in terms of overall ability, I'd just rate him as being solid as you can expect from a rookie pg. He doesn't take over the game, and he's not exactly a floor general yet, but maybe that will improve with time.

Napier will be a solid starter in this league. Wade can play point. Chalmers has some value. He can play. Anderson, McRoberts, Deng, Cole all have value.

No use going for O'Neal and Okafor. Like 305Baller said, they need some young blood in their front court but then who can they afford now? I actually think the backcourt with DWade, Chalmers, Cole and Napier is fine. Its raw but the later two can go on to become good players. I am assuming Riley and Spo just want to walk through this season with finishing in play-offs. Lot of forwards and especially centers are available in free agency this summer.

Is there any chance they can be bad enough to have a top 10 pick? When enough vets play and are in sync, this team looks pretty good. This draft is loaded with bigs, so if they tank enough they might be able to get a real contributor.

Unless they send out Cole/Napier, I don't think they have a ton of options in terms of trading for somebody. Also, sending out Deng might be a bad look, since he trusted that Pat would take care of him if he wanted to re-sign next summer (or at least that was my impression the way it got kinda spun).

They won't have the space to sign a guy like Monroe I'm guessing next summer. Bad defender and gives little effort on that end, but he could certainly help the offense.

Team shouldn't have tried to pacify LBJ with Napier and selected McDaniels. Maybe over the summer they can make a play for him, Harris, or Middleton.

No picks. Plus the East is disgusting, not making the playoffs is virtually impossible.

I thought their 2015 pick is top-10 protected, else it conveys to Philly (via the Thad Young trade). If that's wrong, disregard my prior post.

They don't have a great cap situation, so it may be 2016 until they get significant help.

Yeah it would be really hard to fall behind enough to get that pick. Tough season ahead I guess.

Go get Anthony Randolph and another young, tall, energetic guy who can grab some boards. Should have drafted Patric Young, but whatever, clearly we needed another point guard and wings...
