After returning to help the Orlando Magic snap their skid at home, Nikola Vucevic now hopes to play a leading role in ending their lengthy losing streak against the Toronto Raptors.

As the rising center looks to build on his first game back from injury, the Magic will try to avoid their 10th consecutive defeat to the Eastern Conference-best Raptors on Monday night.

Vucevic missed six games with a lower back sprain before providing a spark in Saturday's 100-99 home win over Atlanta that snapped the Hawks' nine-game winning streak and ended Orlando's two-game slide.

The 7-footer didn't show any effects from the injury, finishing with 18 points and 11 rebounds while going 9 of 13 from the floor. Tobias Harris led the Magic (10-16) with 20 points, including the winning 13-foot jumper at the buzzer.

Vucevic, who added a huge block in the final minute, is averaging a career-high 18.6 points through his 20 games -- 4.4 more than his previous best last season -- and ranks in the NBA's top five with 11.7 boards.

"He's probably one of our premier guys as far as conditioning is concerned and a couple weeks off still tested him," coach Jacque Vaughn said. "You saw the way he was able to rebound the ball and (make) a big block. It's significant for our team."

Vucevic will try to help the Magic beat Toronto (18-6) for the first time since March 2012. He's averaged 18.3 points and 10 rebounds in his last three matchups, totaling 33 and 20 in the two meetings this season.

The Raptors erased an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit to pull out a 104-100 home win in the most recent matchup Nov. 11. They struggled against lowly New York on Sunday before turning it on in overtime for a 95-90 road victory.

Toronto now seeks its first three-game winning streak since a six-game run from Nov. 15-26.

"We had so many mistakes on both sides, even defensively," coach Dwane Casey said. "But it was one of those games, if you're serious about winning, you find a way to get it done and our guys did it."

Although they're just 5-4 in their last nine games, the Raptors have played the past eight without guard DeMar DeRozan due to a torn left abductor and won their last five against teams not from Cleveland.

Terrence Ross finished with a season-high 22 points Sunday and Kyle Lowry scored 21 to go along with 11 assists and six steals.

Lowry, however, also had a career-high nine of the team's season-worst 24 turnovers. He could be in for more of a complete performance after averaging 23.4 points and hitting 15 of 33 from 3-point range in his last five matchups with the Magic.

The Raptors have given up 92.0 points per game and a 39.2 field-goal percentage in their last two after allowing opponents to score 110.0 on 48.1 percent shooting over an eight-game stretch.

Toronto, 10-0 when holding teams below 100 points, will have to contend with a red-hot Victor Oladipo. The second-year guard, who missed the first two meetings, has scored 18.1 per game on 54.7 percent shooting -- including 12 of 18 from 3-point range -- in his past seven.

Harris has had a combined 51 points and 19 rebounds in his last two trips to Toronto, while Evan Fournier has averaged 20.0 points in his past three matchups.

Vasquez has been kinda awful at everything this year. Probably the worst player on the team (other than expected scrubs Fields and Hansbrough) thus far.

Fields and Hansbrough on the court together makes for hilarious offense. Neither guy wants anything to do with the ball and Orlando barely covers either of them.

Ross is an incredibly low bball IQ player. The guy is just clueless. Thankfully he can hit the 3.

While I trash Ross for his low IQ, Patterson is showing the exact opposite this year. I absolutely love the way he plays on offense. He knows his role, doesn't overdo things and I honestly can't remember the last bad shot I've seen him take. A huge improvement in that regard from last year.

Chuck isn't young.

On a separate note, while Vasquez's shot hasn't really been falling that much, they haven't really been running any plays or sets either with him on the floor. A lot of the time it's just dribble handoffs between him and Williams. Williams has fallen in love with his three too much. He has a midrange game he can take advantage of. These Magic players aren't good defenders; I'm positive he can get them in the air and get to the line.

Back from the game. The first time sitting at the gondola section up there at the ACC. The view is pretty nice, but I didn't know the ticket includes free grubs and non-alcoholic drinks so I ate a lot from outside before I got there. :(

Good game, especially at the start of the 3rd (Lowry) and the whole 4th (defensive domination).
