Most of the 9 games since he's been back from injury has been against terrible teams:

SAC
PHO
MIN
CLE
MIL
DET
PHI
NOR
NYK

Did ok against cleveland but when he faced Anthony Davis, he's terrible.

We'll find out soon enough on Thursday dawg

Westbrook is a man on a mission.

He's the league's biggest problem right now.

Oklahoma City has won nearly 74% of their games over the last three seasons in games that Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant have played; not to mention that they've made it to least the conference finals for three of the last four years and the only year that they didn't get that far was when Russell Westbrook was injured in the first round of the playoffs.

Do they have to have a bunch of quality opponents for us to believe that they're one of the best teams in the league?

Actually Zero true contenders on that list. Cleveland without LeBron doesn't count.

Does it matter when they have been consistently one of the top three teams in the league the last three or four years?

No but saying they aren't quite as good as they've looked over the last 9 and that Westbrook's stats are not sustainable is fair.

Lmao this fool acting like Westbrook is unproven in this league... homeboy dropped 40+ points in the NBA finals.

wait - have people forgotten that westbrook's streak of insane play goes back to last year's all star break?

dude murdered the league last year, murdered the league during the playoffs, had a massive first game, got hurt, and then came back and kept murdering.

(recent) history lesson:

this guy averaged 26.7/7.3/8.1/2.2 in 19 playoff games last year
- were those weak teams?

lets stop acting like this stretch is an isolated incident and look at it for what it is - an elite player almost impossibly taking another step towards transcendent greatness.

it's not westbrook's ****ing fault that the rest of the league isn't interested in playing with finals-level intensity every night out.

Elite teams win the games they're supposed to win. Shows great leadership from their top guys that they value those games just as much as the big ones.

Cavs aren't elite because they lack elite leadership from their top guys. LeBron, Love, Kyrie are all terrible leaders. Though they're by far the most stacked team in the league talent wise, having a guy like LeBron in the lockerroom means sure failure come playoff time.

So the game where he murdered Portland in a whole half doesn't matter?

Or the fact that he was the best player in the entire playoffs last year with OKC facing three really tough opponents with great point guards?

Westbrook has been murdering everyone since the all star break last year and I laugh at clowns who keep finding stupid ass ways to discredit his dominance.
