View Full Version : For how long has ISH considered Harden > Melo?

I never really thought about it much, but I know that right now I consider Harden to be a MUCH better player than Melo. Different tiers at the current moment. It got me thinking... when did Harden pass Melo as a player? It seems like they have about the same accomplishments thus far, but Harden was never gifted a scoring title from Durant. Technically, Harden has been to the finals so he's had that on Melo since 2012.

:whatever: If Harden's stat's are empty, so are Melo's. The also both have the tendency to shoot sub 40% in the playoffs

Harden has nowhere to go but up though, while Melo is gonna stay missing the playoffs in the East

Harden is currently leading his team in the West to a 19-5 record, and this is after a stretch where he didn't have Dwight Howard, Beverly, and others. He has also been clutch as ****

Harden > Melo

melo is a more skilled player, but i'd take harden on the team.

If Harden played on a shitty team no one would utter his name

10-3 without Howard this year. I'd say the Rockets without Howard/Bev are a shittier team than Melo's cast on the Knicks. Harden overachieving with his squad in the west while Melo's in teh east not even making the playoffs with Phil Jackson on his side :facepalm

The Rockets played three weeks with only four first round picks dressing. D Mo (who was drafted in '12), Terry (who is 37), Ariza, and Harden. Everyone else was a 2nd round pick or not drafted at all.

Harden was playing on a shitty team, and put up 29,7,7 leading his team to an 10-3 record without Howard on the court

While I agree that Harden's supporting cast throughout he majority of the season has been subpar, this really is a stupid post. Just because they are a second round pick or undrafted does not mean they aren't good basketball players. Beverley for example plays like a first round pick.

Yet he was playing in Russia when Houston signed him?

How can a good player manage to be cast off into Siberia and the great talent scouts not see him? Its not like Beverley was some hot commodity Houston lucked into.

WTF is this? Harden surpassed Melo like two years ago.

I can't speak on behalf ISH but I can speak on behalf myself and supply you with the correct answer which is the second he started playing for Houston.

Melo couldn't do what Harden is doing right now. That's a fact.

Empty stats? he has one of the best if not the best clutch points ratio in the league. You could call him inefficient sure, but to say empty stats just shows you're level ignorance.

Pat Riley thought so highly of him that he cut him.

Because the talent scouts aren't perfect. Hasheem Thabeet was drafted ahead of Steph Curry and James Harden. A players draft position does not dictate how good they are. What they do on the court does.

He's shooting 36% in the 4th (31% from the 3). This season though, Harden > Melo.
