So fvcking what???? He does everything else great. He's still a good defender and he's arguably the best passer in the game. Mavs will improve.

It's not just being able to shoot well. The constant injuries are also a big concern.

Mavericks are taking a big risk, but if they win it all it's worth it.

One player who has a TS% of .422 for another who has one of .762.

constant injuries?

where are you getting these from?

I guess opposing teams don't have to worry when Rondo runs a pick and roll then

That's like the third person I've seen say that today. Apparently one ACL injury and a handful of ankle sprains in 8 years make you injury prone.

Yeah it's not like he ran an amazing pnr with KG or anything... Oh wait.

From the last 2 seasons.

Overall he isn't injury prone, but following 2 consecutive seasons it's alarming.

Any PG can do that. Good PGs can shoot. Rondo can't.

i wouldn't call him injury prone. more like recently unlucky.

then what's the problem? running a pick and roll should be a cake for him

No I'm not, you argued he couldn't run a pick and roll, the later admitted any PG can

I'm not the idiot who keeps backtracking, and never did I mention anything regarding his shot, dumbass.

Mavericks are taking a big risk, but if they win it all it's worth it.

They gave up two bench players (who won't perform in the playoffs) and a washed up PG. I wouldn't call it a big risk.

In fact, it's a low risk, high reward move.

Everyone wants to bring up how he cant shoot, but won't acknowledge any games when he goes 9-13 from the floor and hits 7 jumpers outside of 15 feet.

It's not that he can't shoot because that's just an ISH myth. He is just inconsistent with his jumper.

Can't stand when people say he can't shoot. Tell that to the Heat when Rondo dropped 44 on them with mostly jumpers.

It's not just that he can't shoot, he can't SCORE. He has little isolation ability; no dribble moves, no triple threat, no pull up jumper, doesn't draw fouls and when he does he hits them at a below 50% rate. He's a fantastic playmaker and rebounder though. Maybe his scoring will improve being surrounded by better offensive players now.

He's a unique player who will either get exposed in Dallas or lead them to a deep run.

Exposed as what though? He clearly has an inconsistent jumper, gambling defense. But he has proven he can dish the ball whoever his teammates are. I think he's been exposed as much as he could be.

Yeah he is what he is. He's approaching 30 and prob won't change a whole lot (maybe improvement on his jumper). But he's done what it takes to win before, next to KG and Pierce, and I'm sure he'll do it again. Feels like his head has gotten bigger since then tho, feels like a different player. Him and Monta make an interesting duo

Everyone's %'s go up with Dirk around. Rondo shooting 47%, 53% on 3s, and averaging 15.4 ppg thus far. It's just 7 games but damn.

He was off to a hot start, and wouldn't surprise me if he gets hot again closer to/in the playoffs, but damn has he cooled down since.

in 25 games w/ the Mavs:

9.0 PPG
40.8 FG%
38.2% on threes (not horrible at all, and no doubt being on a better team helps, but won't be surprising if he regresses to the mean as time goes on.)
28.0 FT% (granted thats 1 attempt pg, but still, I could probably shoot a better %)

For what it's worth though he does other things to help get a W beyond shooting (defense, rebounding, etc). Although he strikes me as an "I'm only gonna pass it if I'm clearly going to get an assist" kinda PG.. at least in Boston he did.

I remember when Rondo took Durant to the wire in All Star HORSE and they just ended up shooting a million three pointers because it ran too long.

I would never judge Rondo on regular season performances, he completely transforms (in a good way) when the playoffs begin or during clutch situations. He suddenly can hit mid and 3 pointers when it matters, and his rebounding and passing is phenomenal.
