Since the merger of course, hail the best scorer in the game

For example, I can remember that Iceman and Melo have scored 33 in 1 quarter... So yea, it should be 1st player to score 30 pts while playing less than 20min for the whole game, or something like that...

Durant was surely on fire though, hitting jumpers left and right, just balling before he "went down".

And Kobe had 42 points in 24 minutes.

Just random TNT stats again.

Does that just mean like the final box score? Cause that's misleading otherwise. I'm pretty sure plenty of players scored 30 in less then 20 min, but then continued to play the game.

And if that's not the case, that has to be just regular season. What people don't remember about Jordan's "shrug" game where he scored 35 first half points is that he sat a good amount of that half on the bench. I want to say like 6-7 minutes, and definitely at least 4 minutes.

Yup. Has to mean just for the whole game.

Kobe did score those 40 in the opening 17 minutes of the '03 Wizards game (Last MJ meeting).

Obviously it means that the player hasn't played more than 19 minutes. After all, there have been dozens of 30 point 1st halves and a good portion of these 30 points have come in under 20 minutes.
Look at what these 2 guys have done, though:

pretty dumb stat, so nobody else went off for 30 in a half and then got injured.... right before halftime.

I knew that stat was misleading as shit last night. Still amazing shooting though.
