HUGE upgrade over Francisco Scrubcia

Clippers should have hopped on this if it took only Troy Daniels to nab him. :biggums: They need a serious upgrade at SF.

Very curious what the Rockets had to give up for him, apart from Troy Daniels. I have a feeling at least next year's second round pick. I'd be ecstatic is Daniels turned or to be the biggest piece

Yes. He can shoot, but if he's off he's pretty much usrless. Can't defend at all and too undersized.

We didn't really use Daniels anyway. Even when he got playing time, he didn't really do much. Only thing you get out of him is a three once in about every 3-4 tries.

For the idiot OP who didn't even provide any further details

Houston will send Troy Daniels to Minnesota as part of the Brewer deal, sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Minnesota sends Ronny Turiaf to Houston w/ Brewer, but Turiaf could be shuttled to third team, source says. Turiaf is injured, out for year.

I need some guidance to see how this works financially...

Rockets' large TPE can't seem to be used in this case.

Rockets needs 4.9m incoming salary to make the numbers work.

No thats not it

It was an opportunity the Rockets had to take

It was convenient to get Brewer just for Troy

It had nothing to do with Harden

Woj said Turiaf got shipped here also, but since he's out for the season, we're most likely going to send him off to another team.

Daniels + 4.9m salary for Brewer + Turiaf.

I think there needs to be a third team for this to work.

[QUOTE] Houston's sending a 2015 second-round pick via Kings, and a future second, source says. That could be fluid if third-team found for Turiaf.

Deeper bench, as well as a stronger perimeter defense. Troy Daniels was not getting playing time here, and when he did, he pretty much was just a floor spacer. His defense was awful, mainly due to his size. I'm happy about this trade

Brewer is averaging 11, 3, 2, and 2 steals per game in 28 minutes.

If he can do that for Houston and knock down an occasional shot, he will fit in nicely.

Rockets basically got Brewer for nothing.

UK2K

Last season:

107.7 ppg (#2)
103.1 ppg allowed (#24)

This season:

99.8 ppg (#18)
96.0 ppg allowed (#2)

Brewer should be that nice piece that fits in to give Houston a top 10 offense. With the way the defense is playing, he can be the missing piece.

Brewer + Turiaf + salary filler + 1st rounder for Dragic on deadline day. If Papa is healthy + backing up Ariza sufficiently + shooting decently by then, how would HOU feel about that?

Fantastic pick up by the Rockets, especially not having to give up much at all to get him.

I don't really want Dragic.

His defense isn't as good as Beverley's, Beverley has been shooting threes at almost a 50% clip, and right now we have a bigger need for reserve big men then guards.

I don't think makes the Rockets any better.

I'd rather just wait and try to sign him in the summer when he'll be a free agent. Houston really looks like his top destination right now judging from what the insiders have been saying. If we sign him, we'll obviously get to keep all our guys on the roster. I hope Morey tries to get a guy like Brandan Wright in the trade deadline. He'd be the perfect backup.

Our roster next year could potentially look like this...
Dragic/Bev
Harden/Brewer/Terry
Ariza/Pap
DMo/Jones
Dwight/Wright/Capela
(+ the player we draft with NOP's pick)

That would be AMAZING.

If Davis keeps developing and the Pelicans replace Trash Gordon with somone who can play the Southwest-Division is a total joke. :hammerhead:

They will bukkake all over the rest of the league.

Nope, Harden is the only creator in this team, Papas helps a bit, but Dragic will fill that need also Bev is injured prone. The problem is that Dragic wants a more relevant part in the offense and coming to Houston he have to be ok with taking a role position, and he will likely take some of Bev minutes as well as most of Terry minutes, he can play 1 or 2.

Our bigs are fine, we have the worst scenario play out loosing the starting 4 and 5 and Houston did ok, Dwight, Jones, Dmo (Dorsey,Black fillers minutes) are enough and better that most other trio of Bigs in the NBA. Now if Jones injury is season ending then Yes we need to address that, but so far Dmo took the next step and filled the need for a Big man.

Harden with the ball> Dragic with the ball.

Dorsey may be the worst player in the NBA.

Harden on the bench < ?????

So you want harden to play every game 40+ minutes while scoring creating a defending for 82 games and then expect him to perform in the playoff?

Is been a quarter of the season and Harden already trying late in games.

Is that what I said?

Why can't Brewer play the back up 2 spot? Why can't Bev or Terry run point while Harden isn't on the court? Are they helpless?

You make the leap from 'I'd rather Harden have the ball' to 'Harden should never check out of the game'

I'm saying, D Mo, Jones, and Dwight isn't gonna be good enough. Say we play Portland again, you want to watch LMA torch Jones for 42 a night again? Maybe D Mo can guard him? Or we can put Dwight on him and let Joey ****ing Dorsey guard Lopez or Kaman.

We don't need another ball dominant guard.

So in essence we traded lin for Brewer and Alex Shyved? the 1st rounder was a must to unload lin. Morey strkes again. Houstons defense and transition offense jut went up a notch with brewer. Harden is averaging two steals, Brewer leads the league in steals, Ariza is a hawk and Bev is a hawk as well.Harden and Brewer in the open court will be a nightmare to guard.

Harden will get injured sooner or later at this rate that is why another legit playmaker is a must.Good thing about Goran is his size and versatility to play the one and the 2 guard/off the ball. You can play him as a 2 guard with James and Vice versa.

Alright, with the additions of Brewer and Shved and with the subtraction of Gar(bage)cia, the roster looks like this...

PG: Patrick Beverley/Jason Terry/Isaiah Canaan/Nick Johnson
SG: James Harden/Corey Brewer/Alexey Shved
SF: Trevor Ariza/Kostas Papanikolaou
PF: Donatas Motiejunas/Terrence Jones
C: Dwight Howard/Tarik Black/Joey Dorsey

Solid. Can't wait when T-Jones gets back.

Has Nick Johnspn been getting any burn? How's he looking ? I grew up down the street from him. He really came into his own last year when he won PAC 12 MVP, he use to just be a high flyer and defender
