Depends on team needs. Love is a better individual player. Klay is a better complimentary piece.

Neither are the back bones to a championship team but I can see where Klay may be a more dynamic player and making plays that contribute to final outcomes more so than Love a more complimentary player. Love is the type that should carry a team early in a game maybe 2.5 quarters then let the real stars take over the 4th.

Kevin Love may be the bigger stat stuffer when given the higher usage, but I don't think his impact is that much better. Thompson is really good, and Golden State made a great call not going thru with that trade.

Kevin Love is really not a championship caliber piece. He's like a white Melo with even worse ball handling and defensive ability. He needs players to cover up his weakenesses in order for a team to be good, while there are many other players who can provide what he provides to a team. Klay is a good defender and scorer, on the other hand.

Kevin Love is probably the better player in a vacuum, but Golden State definitely made the right choice in keeping Thompson. I guarantee you they would have a worse record if they made that trade.

Love has better stats but Klay plays both sides of the ball.. Smart move by Golden State.. Klay is more efficient at scoring as well.. Love is a better rebounder..
