they started their career in the late 90s, during the great offensive depression ... they have spent their entire careers with the same team, in the Western conference.

- Duncan's back-to-the-basket game was the main offensive weapon for the Spurs in close games from 1998 to 2007 ... works well in most cases. The only drawback is the last minute.

- Dirk is a seven-footer with unlimited range ... he is the guy you want to take the last shot in big games.

- elite perimeter defenses are capable of forcing Kobe into taking bad shots ... most fans prefer flash over substance, so people usually remember Kobe's amazing circus shots, but not his misses.

Stats are missing prior to 2001.

But but but its more fun if kobe is the legend bc his shots look a lot cooler and he scowls !!!

Kobe has to be the superhero i can worship mindlessly!!!!! I cant comprehend anything more complex than point totals!!!

So sad that you guys can only discredit one of the All-time greats when he's declining.

Pretty sure they are just dispelling the myth that Bryant is somehow head and shoulders better in the clutch then everyone else in the league like his fans want everyone to believe, these numbers have nothing to do with how he is performing this year.

There is no case for Duncan over Kobe as a scorer. None.

basketball is about winning, not stats.

when it domes down to it...kobe can score in bunches better than dirk and duncan and has the killer instinct and competitive nature like jordan did.

I'm pretty sure this is Kobe detractors blowing these praises out of proportion just as much. You guys get bent out of shape when anyone credits Kobe for anything about his game. The over doing it goes both ways, not just Kobe fans.

Fact is, GMs and Coaches held that survey every year that said Kobe was the one guy they want with the ball in his hands with the shot clock winding down. That was a league survey, wasn't by Kobe or Laker fans. It was NBA brass saying these things.

But even when you hear the facts you guys bleed from the ass.

Neither were better scorers.

I won't argue with those that place Duncan ahead of Kobe in terms of all-around impact, though.

And, yes, Dirk has been a great playoff performer, as well.
