Seems like every playoff team has a legit PG who can put up 20/10 any given series

CP3
Wall
Curry
Westbrook
Irving
Lowry

then you still have

Conley (averaging 18 ppg)
Rose (still coming off injury)
Deron williams (off year?)
Rondo (just got traded)
Ty Lawson (10 assists per game)

Never has the PG been so stacked

So why would you ignore that factor? You're criticizing him for bringing up the lack of physical play, and simply dismiss it, as if it could possibly have no effect. No effect on so many guards having career the year after the biggest rule changes. No effect on Nash not only winning two MVPs but shooting over 50% for the first time ever in his career, and for the following 5+ years.

yet the last time a pg won a title as the best player were the bad boy pistons :facepalm

this "golden age" of pg's is fool's gold. they are only "dominant" due to the rule changes, pg's in the 80's and 90's were still very good but they knew their role.

mark price would be lighting the league up almost worse than curry is.

fat lever would be rondo 2.0

chris jackson would be averaging almost 30 points

tim hardaway would have a crossover highlight on espn almost every game

etc, etc.

its called the golden age because of the depth of the position

have you ever seen mark price play? he's literally one of the greatest shooters to have ever played.

and chris jackson was a tremendous scoring guard that was held back due to his coach

my point was despite the depth it doesn't lead the teams to anywhere, especially in the playoffs. pg's lack the defensive versatility required to help carry their team for a deep post-season run

oh, yeah thats true :confusedshrug:

its kind of hard to compare mark price and curry though to be fair; price was much more pass-first than curry. other than their great shooting price and curry are very different players imo

PG by definition are unable to win a championship without another star or great system

The modern rules make small, quick players much more effective than in the past.
