"For me as a defender, I would say Kobe," he said. "Kobe has been the toughest matchup for me this year." The Timberwolves defeated the Lakers 120-119 in Los Angeles on Nov. 28. Bryant scored 26 points, Wiggins had 16.

This isn't surprising to say the least. Everyone knows that the most difficult shot to defend in basketball is the fallaway three-pointer four- to six-feet behind the stripe... it's just just such an unexpected maneuver that most players don't work on preventing it. It just so happens that this is shot is right out of Kobe's signature collection, one that he takes several times a game.

Most of the time when people see Kobe take this shot, they will praise him comments like, "wow, that is unbelievable, what he is doing here!" or "That shot selection is from another planet!", but usually they will just shake their heads in what I imagine is an expression of great incredulity. So you can only imagine what a player seeing this kind of repertoire upfront must think!

Hopefully this has cleared things up for you new to the game.

Ayotunde Ndiaye

Let's be real, you really think anyone in the league thinks a current Kobe is harder to defend than a current LeBron? Primes we won't get into, Kobe is a scrub now come on.

Wiggins had Lebron on the breakaway and Lebron tried taking a charge instead of going for the block because he was afraid of getting dunked on. Wiggins owned Lebron last night.

Drexler said that Rolando Blackman was the toughest player he ever had to guard. Payton said that Stockton was the hardest player he ever had to defend. Kobe said that Reggie Miller was the hardest player he ever had to defend. Each of those guys played against legends better than the ones they mentioned having the most difficulty guarding.

Why bother to stop Kobe? Just get him as many shots as possible and your chances of a W increases accordingly :sleeping

true enough.

Rodman said Worthy was hardest, Thurmond said Kareem, Kareem at one point said A-Train Gilmore, Kobe later said Carmelo of the current league.... and that list goes on and on.

a lot of it is how you match up against a guy, how much film you see, how your anticipation is of one style vs. another...........

No its not. Also, Kobe repeatedly scored on Wiggins in 1on1 situations, in the post etc. so it's no surprise that game left a bigger impression
