Detroit has traded Mitchell, the 37th overall pick in 2013, to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Anthony Tolliver.

I always liked Mitchell and his athleticism / defense. But it seemed like he was a bit lazy...
Tolliver can shoot the 3 a lot better, spreads the floor and can switch between both forward positions.
I don't hate this, but it's a bit of a "meh" move...

Well Mitchell was never going to play another minute of NBA action as a Piston either way so it's not horrible. Would have rather gotten a 2nd round pick then a player in return, but oh well.

We already have a stock pile of shooters. Are we trying to find the "diamond in the rough?" We are balls deep in players that can make the three "consistently."

This has turned out to be a very good trade for us. Tolliver is a hard working gritty role player that is team orientated. He also has a nice and effective stroke from deep. A SVG guy for sure...
I don't imagine we need both him and Jerebko moving forward though, as they are pretty similar in style

Well I couldn't have been more wrong. Tolliver has great hustle and has been a big part of the turnaround.

^^ Yes, I too was scared, scared that he was going to be a worse version of Charlie V type of player. But he has all those intangibles and takes QUALITY shots over quantity shots...
