And it's for the same reason you can't put Lebron higher than Duncan. Duncan has otherwise dominated Lebron in the NBa finals, and yes if it weren't for Ray Allen's lucky 3 he'd be up 3-0 in head to head.
Duncan would have more rings than Jordan right now if it weren't for Kobe.
Kobe knocked him out of the WCF 3 times. With a record of 12-3.
Lemme repeat that. Tim Duncan has lead his Spurs to just 3 victories over Kobe in the WCf.

I ask, Does Tim Duncan's 1 more FMVP put him over Kobe? Despite the fact that Kobe has otherwise been the better player? And played against better finals Competition?
Tim Duncan also won the 2005 NBA finals despite shooting 41%... a big man, shot 41% and won the nba finals, y'all just thought we'd look past that didn't y'all.
Just shedding some light. Intelligent, enlightening discussions are encouraged. Please feel free to comment.

.
So Kobe knocked Duncan out 3 times, and Duncan knocked Kobe out 3 times?

Kobe was always the Spurs killer back in the day. He owned them.
Kobe would have had more FMVP except for the fact that the East were allowed to play just for the hell of it.

Nah, Duncan's better

Then Kobe > Duncan > Lebron seeing how Duncan is 2:1 vs bran.

Nah, Duncan's better
You know who else can't say they're better at anything that matters? The Kings.
Complete waste of a Franchise. Every single year they just play to not win shit.
Unparalleled suckery.

Got no problem with that but if Duncan wins again he's over kobe.

Because he's a role player? Kobe's three as a number 2 > Duncan's as a glorified rebounder and paint protector.

depends on how you rank (accolades, championships, peak/prime, longevity), duh?

stupid logic
Duncan knocked Kobe out from 2010 to 2015 because Kobe didn't even make the WCF.

Boiled down:
5/3/2>>>>5/2/1
More MVPs, Finals MVPs. Never missed the playoffs or dragged his team into the lottery like Kobe has in 2005, 2014, and this year.

Duncan has better longevity too. Positive impact on his team at age 38 while Bryant is a cancer at age 36. Compare their stats this season. It's a landslide for TD:
ESPN Real Plus-Minus numbers:
6.46 - Duncan (3rd in the entire NBA)
-2.06 - Kobe (330 in the entire NBA)
Player Efficiency Rating:
22.5 PER - Duncan (2nd best in NBA history for a 38 year old behind only Kareem)
17.6 PER - Kobe
WS/48:
.180 - Duncan
-0.008 - Kobe

but, Kobe only beat him in 2 WCF's?
2001, 2008.. which 3rd WCF are you talking about?

Kobe > Duncan but both are extremely close career wise I barely have Kobe ranked over Duncan if someone says Duncan had better career and player I wouldn't disagree.

3 victories over Kobe? Does 2013 count when Kobe wasn't even playing a single playoff game against the Spurs? :wtf:
Obviously Duncan has played with HOF coaching and teammates. But Kobe had this guy named Shaq and Probaby the GOAT coach. Saying "Kobe" beat Duncan is retarded.
I'll rate them however the f*ck I want

Duncan and Kobe were playing 1 on 1 in the ECF? I thought the bigger player always won?

Since when the hell did Duncan dominate lebron in the finals? The 2 times he did win he wasn't even the best player on his team :confusedshrug: But the Duncan vs Kobe debate is pretty close IMO, Kobe is slightly ahead though

Kobe stans won't respond to this. Duncan is the better player. Always has been, always will be. Kobe is a cancer, Duncan is a cure. He's aged gracefully and let other players come into their own. Kobe is still taking 30 shots a game all the while shooting at a 37% clip.
It's not even close or debatable at this moment. Duncan top 5, dead or alive. Full stop, period.

according to your logic, you can't rate Kobe higher than Nash or Dirk ... btw

there's a big gap between them ... prime or career.
Prime -> Duncan was the best player in the NBA (1999 - 2007)

Career -> the Record Book has Duncan's name plastered all over it.
