Question asked before, but now that Mitch Richmond made the HOF this year, does this help Antawn's chances of making HOF?

Couple of All star appearances, 6th man of the year, National player of the year in college.

Points 20,042 (18.5 ppg)
Rebounds 8,157 (7.5 rpg)
Assists 1,761 (1.6 apg)

My memory is vague, but wasn't he super hyped in college then ended up drownded out in the NBA?

Sure didn't seem to be on Mitch Rich level to me. Jamison was hot for a few years IIRC.

No. Remember that dude getting eaten alive by Garnett in 2010

No way.

You have to "dominate your position" for a good 5 years to even be considered.

He was good. Not not dominate.

:facepalm

5 20+ PPG seasons spread out. Only average 10+ rebounds once.

If that's the good enough to get in....

Just as long as Jack Sikma, Mutombo, Bob Dandridge, Chris Webber, Marques Johnson or Sydney Moncrief get in the Hall of Fame before some of these other players like Antawn Jamison, I do not really care.

If Tawn makes it, so should Abdur Rahim and Antoine Walker. A bunch of 2nd fiddle, stretch 4's that put up empty stats throughout their careers.

Would that make the memorabilia card of his I just pulled worth more? If so then yes, yes I do.

Antoine Walker's career may be scrutinized but he at least played an important part in getting a championship, as well as a trip to the WCF. Jamison has never been past the 2nd round.

Nope can't put Jamison in. Even though I think he's underrated for what he could at his peak years. The 20,000 point rule doesn't apply to Jamison. Not enough legendary moments, individual accolades, team accolades, and he didn't redefine his position. If u DON'T have ANY OF THAT in your favor, u can't make the HOF. Most guys have at least two of the traits I stated. But Tawn doesn't even have one. Even a guy like Rodman has five rings, multiple rebound titles and Defensive Player of the Year awards. Rodman was only a two time All Star, but he had so many other things going for him.

In terms of Mitch, he was a six time All Star, won a Gold Medal, and at his peak was arguably the third best shooting guard in the L after MJ and Drexler. And even GOAT wise among SG's, u could make an argument that Mitch is in the top 15-20. Jamison doesn't have Mitch's resume.

Correct, there are players right below him in the All Time scoring list like Walter Davis, Terry Cumming, Mark Aguirre who were much better and have little to no shot at making it.

Than you have guys from his era who he even outscored by a few thousand points like McGrady and Webber.

Agreed. Richmond was the best SG in the league, albeit briefly due to MJ's retirement, and after MJ and Drexler was the third best SG of that era (yes, he was better than Miller). Jamison is closer to Jeff Hornacek or Hersey Hawkins than he is to Richmond.
