I thought he was so special because he could play and defend all 5 positions:oldlol:

He probably will when they go to the bench.

Hes special because hes bigger than most power forwards with a point guards athletic ability. That doesnt make it ideal to play him at the 5 nightly any more than it was ideal for Magic to do it....or Bird...or Lamar Odom....or anyone else who proved they could do it at times and have been seen guarding centers.

You dont drop a 4 time MVP who led his team to the last 4 finals into a new position over an injury.

Scottie Pippen defended 5 positions(Ive seen him guard Zo, Ewing, Vlade and others). Doesnt mean he was the logical answer to the Bulls center problems from some years.

Not that I think you need some common sense issues explained. You arent an idiot. You just dont mind making a bad topic/post now and then for a laugh.

He's not bigger than most power forwards. Boozer who at 6-9 some would consider undersized dwarfs him in any picture.

and putting aside the "well people aren't talking about him playing the 4 full time" even if he could do it for any amount of time for it to be worth noting as in asset, then why did any team with any size of consequence kill miami inside and on the boards?

Go look at combine sizes. He came in bigger than many bigmen and hes played at 30 pounds more than his predraft weight. Lebron has olympic recorded legit weight above that of an awful lot of bigmen. At 19 he was heavier(not in my opinion...just...the recorded facts) than Vlade Divac at 21, Blake Griffin at 20, Greg Monroe, Tim Duncan, and Zo at 20-22. And he gained 15-20 pounds from there. He was 5 pounds bigger at 18 than Embiid was at 19.

Hes the size of a power forward. A big one.

Boozer probably does outweigh him though. Boozer was 258 at the predraft...and I remember hearing he was 270 or so when he was still on the Cavs.

But Lebron being the size of a bigman isnt my opinion.

Go look. Its not hidden. Lebron literally has 60-70 pounds on some guards. He was 70 pounds bigger than Kobe at the same age.

Hes a ball handling power forward.

if they put him at center, he would foul out before the game finishes.

he can defend the 5 in flashes, but that doesn't mean you put him there for the whole game. certainly not the entire time Varejao is out.

Lebron can guard the smaller Cs but certainly not the legit big ones and the ones who are post players. he can probably guard jump shooting bigs.

So if Kobes such a great scorer why doesn't he score 60 every game? I thought hes the GOAT scorer:rolleyes:

Because LeBron can barely defend elite guards/perimeter players right now. Imagine what would happen if he defended the likes of elite, skilled big men like Cousins, Pau, and Marc? :oldlol: Dude would get eaten alive every night.

IMO, Lebron cannot guard any PF (much less center) with post offensive skills (look at him vs David West). He might be able to guard PFs with little post offensive moves but not for any length of time (it wears him down).

Because he's a legit PF sized player who needs to fulfill all the point guard, and playmaking duties for the Cavaliers. He's also defacto head coach given Blatt's newbie status, and I don't think James really respects him much. Needing him to play Center would be asking a lot. Guarding guys significantly bigger, and out of his position ... while also being tasked as playmaker, and coach on the floor?

I always see LeBron more of Karl Malone than MJ.

He'd be greatest player of all time if he's always play PF spot instead of trying to play like MJ or AI.

Can you imagine Karl Malone with LeBron's court vision + athleticism and rings?

Top 3 greatest player easily.

Do you think he's still PF-sized after losing weight?

Anyhow, I was hoping LeBron was going to trend towards playing bigger over the course of his career, but I guess he figured shedding weight, and playing outside would extend his longevity. He knows his own body best I suppose, but this would've been cool to see (whether or not it was a success). :confusedshrug:
